EU+US 300 Ilvl Azerite rewards (110)

Anyone familiar with when the Azerite pieces from zone quests/campaigns become ilvl 300 rather than 285's, just finished my first zone but the reward was only a 280(285) piece?

For context I am a level 110 and my neck level is 340+, at first i thought might be dependent on the neck level but that doesn't seem to be the case.

You get 8 300 rewards. 2 from the scroll / chest quests on alliance and horde side. The other 6 (3 from horde, 3 from alliance) will be obtained the further you quest through the 6 zones (3 alliance, 3 horde).

Or in other words, just do all the quests on both sides and you will have 8 pieces. (Check the azerite traits before you obtain the items to see which ones will be BiS for you after the faction change.)

Not sure what you mean by "all" of them.

Basically there are 7 quests that make up the questing path. Two for each zone, and one warcampaign quest. The first 4 quests that reward azerite gear will be 285. The last 3 are 300. Each quest has 2 reward options (and the warcampaign quest has 3).

If you faction change, the gear will convert to the horde/ally equivalent from the corresponding zones. And then you can do the same thing again (first 4 are 285, last 3 are 300).

Theres also the scrolls quest, which can be done once and rewards a 300 helm. It has no bearing on any other pieces.


So you can get up to 7 pieces at 300. You'll need to figure out which traits/pieces you want for your class and if it is possible to get them. You have to complete the first azerite quest in a zone before the second quest, so that limits what pieces you can get. If your BiS helm is from zuldazar1, then to get that at ilvl 300, zuldazar2 will also have to be ilvl 300 - which then limits your final piece to the warcampaign or nazmir2 or voldun2. So some classes will be able to get their best pieces easily. Some may have to choose between picking a secondary trait, or getting the best trait on a 285. You could also faction swap, which gives you the chance to get another 3 pieces - though the same limitations apply.

And then next week Blizz will change the traits again and it'll become not best. Once they stop dicking with it i'll go again.

edit- which is supposedly "soon" right? Like 8.2 or something? The neck will be customizable and the armors unchanged?

Came here because I had hoped OP was talking about 295 gear that gets a lucky upgrade to 300 (meaning 305 after +5 azerite power). I've only seen it on a couple toons in game and they told me it was just a super lucky upgrade from a quest reward. One of them had 'crappy powers' according to the wearer though, so there's a lot of stars that have to align for this to pan out well.

Wondering if anyone knew more about how often this can happen.

I have another semi-related question regarding the 300 pieces and the quest lines.
Is it possible to complete the last quest in Nazmir 2 before finishing the Nazmir 1 chain, as in I'd like to have the 300 from Nazmir 1 without being forced to choose my following 300 piece from Nazmir 2. Does it work that way or does the next quest line within the same zone not open completely before handing in the previous one.
