EU+US What's your craziest auctions?

A few days ago I got my hands on a Cloak of Rot for 10K gold and not too long before that, an Orb of Mistmantle ilvl 35 for 5K gold. This got me thinking about all the crazy twink items that people must've gotten for very cheap prices. Or the expensive items people have sold for a very cheap price.

So what's your craziest auctions?

I posted a Shadowfang during legion for 50g instead of 50k when I was drunk one night. Suprisingly it sold quite quickly

Bought a shadowfang in cata for 75g traded for riding turtle

Bought a shadowfang this xpac for 5k
Wolffear harness ilvl 43 for 1k
3x ring of the underwood for 100/500/1k
Pendulum of doom (back in cata) for 500g
Elven spirit claws for 100g

oh, in 2012/13ish i found 2x Green Lens of Intellect and a perfect green lens of Stam on an unmerged wow acct i bought. paid $10 for the acct, sold the stam lens for $150 - forget about the other two, might have been gold. was a good day.

Not super rare but difficult to find and I thought 14g was a bargain. At the beginning of BFA I was buying ilvl 34 greens for so cheap before people realised they were twink material. The same gear that is 10k+ now I was picking up for a few hundred gold.

I sell the crit rings from the Westfall pool for 50k a pop.

Takes me almost eight hours to get one and that is cheap.

And no I'm not talking 20-29, I'm talking 10-19

i sold an epic tiger for 350 gold .. i was so tired at that time i didnt finish typing the remaining zeros before dozing off at my computer .. and the next day i ranted in that realm the whole day ! it was the single most damaging thing i done in my AH career, it happened several times before, but never an epic tiger .. lesson for me is never put anything on auction when you are tired

I’ve sold a bunch of stuff that thinking back on it I really regret, but at the time I was happy to sell. I bought a rooster for 50k and sold it for like 500k a while back. That was awesome- but obviously would be worth more if I kept it. Solid a ton of Pre cata twink items for “cheap” by today’s standards.

I bought my first shadow fang for 250g, and my second one for 1k. Back then, that was a lot!

I would say I’m more “upset” with mounts in my wow career. I watch 14 people win the roll for the ZA bear (obviously not many people would come back to help after getting theirs). Back when TOGC was current, we used to use whatever that DKP system was, but with gold, to sell the mounts from 10 man with no wipes. I planned to buy one in the last two weeks it was available, but they went for over 500k, which I couldn’t afford. The first one sold for 35k. That’s one I really wish I could have back.

Got my first gloomshroud for 16k back in wod. Bought a blackvenom blade for 80k in wod and resold it for 500k in less then 2 hours. Shadowfang for 10k in mop resold it for 200k

made a little more that 3x the amount i paid for a lv48 scaled destiny

its the correct decision .. you can never know what will happen if you kept it .. before mount went account wide, i had a lot of them for sale, i didnt use any of the mount because i wasnt a collector of mounts .. i just sell them for profit .. and the days leading up to the account wide mount thing, i dump over 150 or 200 Vial of the Sands at 15k each .. well well below the cost, i do not know what will happen after that, so the wise thing is not to keep, but to release all even at a loss .. i got to know the account wide thing only at a late stage, because i have so many other things to sell and i wasnt in tune with the latest news about patches and stuff like that .. i never regret that decision of dumping with today's prices, i am still regularly making 100 vials each time when i want to sell them

Margins good on vials? Doesn’t it cost more than 15k to make them with vendor costs? One of the few alchy recipes my main doesn’t have. Need to farm that out.

it was a huge loss at that time .. imagine having so many in your bank and suddenly you learn that a player just need to buy 1 and his whole account can use it .. was shocking news for me lolol .. the only thing on my mind was, mounts will be useless, as in prices will tumble .. so i dumped .. just the vendor mat alone is twice the cost of my selling price, not even counting in the mats like flask and truegold yet .. thats history .. happened long ago

if you want to know whether its profitable now to sell .. if you make 100 pc at a time, i say at least 20% are extra proc .. from alchem xmute, so not counting profit, just that extra proc alone is profitable

Can't even remember the number of TCG mounts I flipped for profit back in WOD when it was an open secret they were being duped. Blizz should at the very least add them all to the BMAH spawn pool now the cards have been discontinued, its ridiculous people should have pay close to the new gold cap for some of the shittier ones which in prior xpacs consistently sold for well under 100k and were within the reach of non-goblins.

at the moment, people are selling beyond gold cap price, its traded outside of the game usually .. i lost 1 epic tiger on AH due to my negligence, but selling the second one recovered all my losses totally and make profit still .. good thing i had several tigers at that time when i made this stupid mistake

let me relate a true life experience i came to know regarding what blizz will do to dupe item .. there is this 18 yr old NZ guy who return to the game after a few years off, he discovered his acct was hacked and when blizz gave him back, every single bag slot and bank slots are filled with Queen's Garnet, it was beginning of a new expac and queen's garnet is worth over 20k per piece .. 1 pc 20k, you know how many STACKS he has ? he reported it to blizz and told them those werent his .. i asked him and he told me he REPEATEDLY inform blizz .. but blizz did nothing .. how can you do nothing when you open a player's account and see every single slot filled with the latest red gem of the highest price ? for some reason, he was told to come to me to get rid of the stuff .. by whoever i do not know, so i made a few contact to buyers in china, it was 4am if i remember correctly, just to wake up some clowns there, and the day after, this NZ boy was so happy he said the buyer paid him 2K or 2.8k USD .. to him it is a lot of money .. he just had a newborn baby, 18 yrs old and he had a baby ! i mean srsly how much does a condom cost ? but i know he had been short changed by the chinese buyer .. it shd've been a lot a lot more .. but still both parties are happy with what they gotten .. and the joke is this .. around that time another chinese guy contacted me, asked me to write in english a ticket to recover his account, i asked him who's account, he insist its his, and he wouldnt tell me the items he had, he just said he lost a lot of money if he does not recover it, i know he is a gold seller .. i didnt help him, i dont want to get involve in anything that will put my accounts at risk .. once blizz confiscated all the queen's garnet in one of my account and gave me back 1+ mil gold.. when the actual amount was close to 2 mil .. i was so pissed i think i put in so many tickets .. what blizz does is, they are not able to tell when you bought the gem at different time, its like they press a key to remove a single "type" of item from your slots and see the last amount figure you trade/transacted, that is why i was short changed which makes me pissed like hell

Ruffians belt for 90k in BFA
