Merlin

Grandfathered
can 70s players put in tickets and press them to correct the profession crafted gears that requires lvl350 to use in the upcoming patch .. keeping silence not gonna change anything .. they are not gonna remove set bonus for crafted gears anyway

Let's be real it's pretty good that whitemend doesn't work atm
[doublepost=1550847647,1550847503][/doublepost]Also stop making tickets about level 70 gear, goddamn it. You're just gonna end up getting all the fun stuff "fixed". This is exactly how we lost legacy set bonuses in the first place. Just keep quiet.

like it or not, there are a decent number of gms/devs that want players to only play current content and will ruin old stuff to try to get you to lvl up.

most arent like that but there are enough of em that youre rolling the dice every time you make something like this get attention.

To anyone reading the above two posts and thinking "I doubt they'd do that" , here's a very recent example:

Void Sphere was a gem that used to give +4 All Resistances. This was useful in some settings and the gem worked fine up until BfA launch, where it (and other +All Resistance items) ended up bugged and not actually providing resistance anymore. People made a bunch of tickets about the Void Sphere not working and that Blizzard should fix it, yada yada.

And Blizzard decided that they would. They said: "Sure, we'll fix it."

https://www.wowhead.com/item=22459/void-sphere ( ° ͜ʖ͡°)╭∩╮ - Blizzard

So what people should do when they find a broken low-level item is just keep their damn mouths shut and wait for it to be fixed by accident when they make changes to max level stuff. Just be quiet.

Because now in 8.1, +All Resistance items are working again by accident, so if people had just not said anything about Void Sphere, they would've, ironically, had their gem fixed by Blizzard the way they originally hoped it would. But they felt the need to write tickets, and instead got their item effectively removed from the game.

sending a ticket to fix battlegrounds

never saw blizzard fixing anything buggd on lower levels. but you can have hopes and dreams i guess.
Oh they dont fix stuff but they sure as hell go out of their way to break low level stuff

Why tempt fate and risk getting an unsympathetic GM and losing things we already have?
Because I’d rather chance it getting fixed tbh. The game will change it always does, so what does that really change if a trinket proc gets nerfed etc. I’m all for keeping the gms noses out of our stuff, but there are some things worth reporting.

I mean even if some things do get "fixed", sometimes it might be in the best interest of the overall bracket, so I definitely agree with this. I'm all for things like spellfire being nerfed if it happens and maybe other legacy bonuses because things like this give classes like mage an even higher power advantage, but I also hope things like being able to obtain cata tinkers gets fixed too.

Regardless, everyone's gonna adapt to whatever changes come.

Broken things should be fixed, but they have a habit of fixing things that were working as intended.

Thing is though Spellfire isn't broken, it does what the tooltip says and and has always said. Wanting an item nerfed just because it has an advantage your class doesnt is a piss poor way of looking at it. Isn't having an I win bubble enough for you?

If they fix the Whitemend set, and leave the Spellfire as is, then Mages ( and possibily Locks ) will be even happier.

You kinda missed my point, but that's alright I guess. For awhile now blizzard has been working out legacy sets, and I don't see why this one should be any different. I'm not saying I agree with disabling of legacy sets, and I'm not even the one to spam send in tickets to get it fixed. I've played 70s since cata and I really enjoyed the bracket a whole lot when they were active, but I don't see the point in pick and choosing which ones to keep around and which ones not to.

Spellfire in specific is probably the most ridiculous set out there right now, and if you think otherwise, then I feel as though you're misinformed. If you play mage then I can see why you'd be coming off as salty as you are, but is being able to hit for 6k arcane blast x2 instant cast not overkill? 7% increase to spellpower just for stacking a primary stat that gives you spellpower as well? Then adding another 10% into that equation with Whitemend? You don't need to be very smart to realize how insane that is.

I perform just fine in BGs, that's not even my issue. I'm just saying that classes like mage, and even warlock hit hard as shit, and mage especially would still be very strong without the bonus. So with that being said, is having an instant I win button every 1 minute not good enough for you?

Edit: and to add, I don't know how long you've been playing this game for, but in BC, spell power =/= intellect, which is why this set bonus even exists. Int was there specifically to increase mana pool, not spell damage. This is absolutely not how the set was "intended to work" no matter how much you wish to believe it was.

Funny I don't even have the Spellfire Set on my mage, and i don't play Arcane. I have flirted with Arcane but Frost is more fun in BG's. So it doesn't affect my Mage either way. Take away damage from an Arcane mage and it doesn't have a lot. Single school of magic to lock, it shouldn't be that hard to counter.

I have used the Spellfire set on a 70 Disc, but prefer the extra health I get with Sunwell gear, so it's sitting in my Bank unused.

I'd rather have shit like Saltwater potions removed from the game than changing or nerfing one of the few working sets out there.

Edit: BTW I'm not asking for the Whitemend set to be reviewed and fixed, in fact if you read the thread you would see I would rather people leave it as a "dead" set and not raise tickets.

hehehe

Spellfire really isn't that amazing btw. I personally don't like to use it at all, and the best Mage player in the bracket seems to agree:

And if you're using spellfire on a class that isn't Mage then you're just being way too optimistic about your survivability.

You mean someone like me? I have my bank full of stuff that no longer works, but I'm not spamming tickets to get them "fixed" because I know Blizzard would just make sure they never work again. Instead I'm keeping my mouth shut. I'm just being patient because Blizzard always ends up breaking things in unintended ways that make them good on lower levels again.

But you don't seem like the reasonable type of person so best of luck mate.

I can confirm Whitemend is FIXED on the 8.1.5 ptr, requires 50 outland tailoring to benefit from the set bonus.
