***edit: downloading game on my new PC now what have u done.

Great game. Great gearing system. 0 P2W. Dynamic combo system in pvp. Scaled instanced PvP/arenas, Non-scaled World vs World pvp.

You MUST try WvW. It is an experience you have to live.

It is SUPER easy to get yourself a full set of decent gear (super cheap), which are on par with BiS gear (disappointing how few extra stats bis gear gives). But hey, its noob/alt-friendly, letting you go back WHENEVER you want after a long break and still be top tier.

I sunk hundreds of hours into this game playing a Thief (similar to Rogues on WoW), and a Ranger (similar to Hunters).

It really depends what your interests are. I focused a lot on World vs World (WvW), so I found a lot of success in my thief as a target caller/roamer when running with zerg groups (pack of 30+ players vs 30+ players). You have short engagement times, but have incredible burst, mobility, and evades.

When I last played (few months ago), Necromancers were the DPS class to play if you wanted play in an competitive WvW environment. Kinda boring in my opinion because your damage was basically just AOE rot. Servers would run around with 10+ necros and have so many AOEs on enemy zergs that youd just die from aoe/dots.

Make your toons on Northern Shiverpeaks if you havent picked a realm yet, that's where all my toons are at :p

I should definitely give this game another go.

I got tired of rogue after a while since the new meta completely countered my Thief in WvW. Picked up Chrono Mesmer (support). You can take a look at what "competitive" wvw looks like in the POV of a Chrono Mesmer.

Btw all the red circles are from Necros, like I was saying.

HYPE LETS GOOO IM CONVINCED

Guild Wars 2 is an excellent game. It's also one of the rare ones where leveling is actually a shit ton of fun. I've raised over five classes the max and I like the fact that you can take a different leveling track with everyone if you wish because of the intuitive way the zone scaling works. I know WoW has it now, but Guild Wars 2 pioneered it best imo.

Heh... on XPOFF talking about how great LEVELING IS. RIP me.

Freakiiing soulbeast :p

I can't handle all the thief nerfs they've been handing out. I finished high gold last season as dp thief. Haven't played since the end of last season!

I started farming for my legendary dagger and just gave up on the game when I realized how long and impossible it would be to get it hahaha. I always come back around once my need to grind for legendary items goes away.

I'm still up on NSP but our realm has been dwindling since they larger guild have xfered off and all we have left is a toxic wvw guild :/

I really wish I could appreciate this game more, Its what I consider the 3rd best MMO on the market...I just feel its quite clunky and its a shame because the gameplay is a lot of fun and I love the customization you get compared to other MMOs.

I feel that I've dried myself out and got bored of doing the same repetitive quest again, and again, and again. I'll most definitely get back into GW2 though, since I'm quitting WOW in 4 days

Yeah when I came back I was sad to see the state of thief. Ever gave Rev a shot? Its a great rotational +1

If organised all you really want is organized PvP, jump into HotM. That's why this game is so alluring to me. You jump in, get max level, setup your build and play.

Yeah. That's how I feel about GW2 too, except it's I consider it the #1 MMO out there. F2P/B2P, No Gear Treadmill, no Holy Trinity, Action-esque combat system, able to convert in-game currency to paid currency, active community and active economy, but I still get bored of it from time to time. It hits all the marks of what a #1 MMORPG should be but it fails to hold my interest for long periods of time. I usually just hop in for a week or 2 and then take a few months break, and thats what I've been doing ever since release (~2012).

I haven't tried Rev out... yet! Might be a cool change. I always have a hard time playing multiple classes in games cuz my fingers get confused when switching between them lol.

Definitely give it a try. I enjoyed it quite a bit before I made the swap to Ranger back in HoT. Has 2 teleport gap closers, insane burst damage, fairly solid sustain and stability uptime, and the legend swapping makes for pretty unique gameplay.

LFM for tournaments team, we are mostly tinks but relatively noob when it comes to gw2. No idea what good comps are, play what you like and we'll go from there. Need 1-2 people, but the more the merrier. PM me if interested, thanks xd

Finish story , i recommend grab the expansions, heart of thorns has a very important mastery, gliding.
Path of fire has mounts which help traverse map faster
They also unlock 1 elite specialization each, which tend to be quite good, depending on class you play.

You could try WvW(large scale PvP)
Its gonna suck balls at start, but you could avoid the fighting, flip Supply camps, and harvest currency over time (might get boring fast).
Other alternative is to run some map events i guess, and get some basic lvl 80 gear.
