Help with gear

Hello guys.
Just got some gear on my 87 mage. I made goggles and engineering trinket. IDK about cogwheel gems - some are on AH (+22 secondary stat), but there are cata cogwheels sold by gnome in dwarven district (+33 secondary stats). Can I use them? I am low on gold so I can't just try :D

How about other gear? Are there better pieces then mine? I know about neck with socket in FL from Majordomo. Seems better to me.

Enchant advices?

I'm not certain about the cogwheels. I don't see why they wouldn't work as long as there's not some kind of weird min item level required.

On the topic of gear though, this bracket is crazy with gear and I feel opens up to some good customization options. I see you have lots of DS gear, which is nice. I would also suggest, if you haven't looked into this already, also checking BC dungeons for scaled gear, specifically looking at Shoulders, Chest, belt, legs, and/or Gloves (other slots don't mean as much, imo). This is the break down of kind how I see gear in this bracket:

DS gear tends to have more Mastery and Stamina than other gear pieces
Scaled gear can have higher main stats than some pieces but lower secondaries
ICC can be nice but most gear I feel comes from other places (unless you are an 80)
Ulduar secretly holds some pretty nice gear too (rings, wrists, necks, etc..)
The rep rings (ICC and Hyjal) should also be considered when gearing.

Also, I don't know how effective it is at 87, but there is the Spellfire cloth set, which when running all 3 pieces gives +7% of your INT to SP. Worth a mention anyway.

1 more question guys - does Ghost Iron Dragonling (eng trinket) proc do something?
It has OP af stats, but dragonling just stares at me while I'm fighting :D
