EU+US Islands Expeditions General Discussion

111 is fine for DH. Raddons head and crafted leggo boots for extra gems, AH for everything else. No raid lockouts ever.

edit- the most work is getting the essences for Raddons. I started a new one yesterday on a second account, left the starting scenario at 103 in what, 45 minutes? Then 2 Legion invasions later and it's 106. I created it when the first invasion started, cuz why not? I figure ill see if I can run some mains thru expeditions for those weekly treasure maps...

IE kinda sucks at 120 once you've twinked them.

Thank you guys for the quick answares, i thought about DH too, but since i already got one on my main server i gotta creat one on another server- which mean i gotta lvl up a new character first *sigh*. And i think i'll go for the mythic antorus gear.
 
For folks trying to get WE for their new twinks, once you can start getting Seals of Broken Fate for rerolls, doing Mythic Legion Dungeons is a quick 150 WE per boss. You really only need a single friend w/ a decent, non-cloth 120. Sure your rerolls are more valuable for Antorus stuff, but if you're trying to get Legendaries, this is the fastest way that I've found. Mytic Eye of Azshara is a piece of cake for your 120 friends to help you out and easy to get to.
 
READ.- since i cant post links yet, ill just write. BLIZZARD 3 hours ago posted a BLUE POST, that they will hotfix lvl 110 and above to turn off xp. Becouse they found it too op for twinks to power level other characters.

EDIT* they added "We’ve been thinking about this plan more today and agree that there are probably better ways to approach this issue. We’re going to hold off on this for the time being while we discuss."

Anyone got one of the new mounts drop yet?

Recently got the last of the original 5 mounts, twilight avenger, making it 7 with the 2 vendor ones. Feelsgoodman

Also, if you're currently running tons of islands on horde and have spots for sale, pm me!
 
1500 dubloons farmed and zero mounts dropped so far. Pretty sure I have the worst luck with Islands.
 
Have certain mobs always reset aggro at range? The big dragons and stone giants are resetting aggro and i don't remember them doing that
 
Dragons spawn will almost always reset. They got a short tether.
 
Island Expeditions have just become a cauldron of loathing for me. It may be because I'm trying to level a 119 through them, and by the gods, by level 112 I'm already getting ruined by two pulls. I can't imagine what it must be like for someone without gear, or just quest greens.

It's hilarious since I'm of the opinion that they rescaled difficulty to affect us twinks more that they've made islands effectively impossible for levelers unless they're opting to buy carries.
 
I definitely agree that there has been some re-tuning where some specific mobs are way more powerful than before 8.1.

As for specific farming, I have gone as far to take my 110 twink rogue and snipe rares only and vanishing if I get more than a couple non elites with a rare pull. Still, I have terrible drop rates for anything I'm after. I wonder if anyone has taken 3 twinks into one of these and strictly killed nothing by rares by using CC and such. 3 hunters could probably snipe rares and FD over and over...

when you say specific farming does that mean certain pets/mounts only have a chance to drop from a named mob?

That's the idea. More specifically certain drops come from certain types of mobs. ie: Dragons, Pirates, Vrykul, etc. My whole theory is that the rare elites grant the highest chance for said items to drop, so only killing them will give me the best chances to get stuff.

They changed this a while ago. Exact same rewards no matter what you kill or how you win.

I've heard conflicting information. For instance if you want the twilight drake mount you can only get it from dragons. You can't get it to drop from something like an ogre or a pirate.
 
Thought the mob type just had to be on the island? So like if there's Dragons on island but you only kill pirates you can still get dragon drops

alot of good info in there learned a few things! ive been thinking the bonus azerite reward quest items had a better chance to drop if i did the side quests but they actually drop from specific types of mobs. if a person wanted to use islands as a way to level their azerite neck the runs could target those types specifically. at 111 i think they give 700 AP when turning them in. a completed island gives 150.
