Classic Twinking

I'm double boxing a rogue / druid to 60. Non-stop grinding with zero down time. Then I'll 2 man farm DM tribute / brd for gold & gear. Then on a 3rd account I'll make a twink or 2 and run myself through dungeons for gear.

Actually it really depends if BG's are cross realm or not. If they aren't, some brackets will be dead on some servers or have long queue times. Cross realm bgs also means I can make all my toons on PVE servers since I only care about BG and not world pvp.

Also I don't really know what bracket. 49's would be great but they probably won't get the pops. Also it's a bit tricky farming BRD / ST for gear (even with 3 accounts). So 29 / 39. Idk.

The new Vanilla macro-economy will be different than the original one. Especially with so many “new” players.

/cheers

So far, can never be sure how it will chalk up on actual classic servers, but 10-19 / 40-49 are the most active on Elysium's Nighthaven realm; which has around 2k pop at peak times. @raziel83 so 40-49 is probably a pretty good bet, and should be fun since most won't be noobies with 2-3 greens at that point.

I think within a month I could have a very geared twink ready, depending on your class you don't -need- a 60 to run you things for full bis. It definitely helps though, especially for some of the quests at 29 for hunter gear. Mostly just the gun. Will still be fun to have everyone be 'twinked' as good as they can be, the first one to rock that full BiS will have bragging rights too.

My 29 Ret on elysium, just needs WSG ring.

I didn't actually start twinking until BC and I've forgotten the specifics of librams. Can my 60 apply librams to my twinks BOP gear through the trade window? Or does it only work on boe's in my 60's inventory?

Can my 60 apply a chromatic resistance shoulder enchant to boe's in his inventory?

Thanks.

chromatic shoulder enchants in particular dont work

unless you can glitch it...i think..idk tho. I couldnt glitch it even with 2 different cast time add ons. Never seen a single twink with a chromatic or zandalar enchant on any of the 3 servers either and ive probably seen hundreds of twinks now. Maybe a priv server only bug because https://www.ownedcore.com/forums/wo...xploits/14755-shoulder-enchant-exploit-2.html he says he had it (but its a 1 post only account)

who cares tho Naxx is bis so you just walk up to the guy with 1 and trade screen enchant it with and be done in 5 seconds no glitches required

I would imagine Libram prices will be pretty high at first.

librams and naxx enchants work

On both boe and bop (through trade window) items?

Also does anyone know if instance level requirements were added in vanilla? I want to start running myself through dungeons for gear at lvl 1-2 if possible.

I honestly have no idea but it doesn't mater.

Its not necessary to worry about EXP on dungeon drops, you do the clear on the main up to the boss then log the twink in, twink dies to boss then you kill boss, twink reses and loots. No EXP gain required.

No it definitely matters to me! I like taking a twink to a dungeon at the lowest level and start farming for it's BIS. I'll slowly level up that way. Sure it'd be faster to just quest but that's not as interesting. For example, my 49 frost mage is going to need blade of eternal darkness and it might take a 100 princess runs to get it. So might as well be getting some experience along the way.

I did this in BC but just can't remember how low lvl my twink was. I suspect there were zero instance level requirements in the beginning. If I can take a level 1-10 mage through the maraudon portal, I'll do it (in future expansions, or maybe BC, it required lvl 30 to use). Although getting there is painful AF, might be able to pay for a warlock summon.

Farming for POD will be that much more worth while if my lvl 1-10 warrior is standing near the entrance slowly leeching some experience. That way, if POD doesn't drop, I've still gained some twink levels along with all the other loot. Much more worthwhile imo. Of course this only really works because I'll be on 3 accounts. Multiboxing a lvl 60 combat rogue who is being buffed / healed by a 60 druid to steamroll the elites while my 3rd account has the lowbie twink standing somewhere.

That's another thought, POD for a 39 war or paladin (alliance only) ?. I prefer war but I'm worried because there's no mortal strike. I'd be spamming overpower, cleave, sweeping strikes, whirlwind. Is that enough? Or is the fury slam build worth it in pvp. Paladin sounds like aids with shamans purging your seals. Anyone got vanilla exp for POD alliance side?

In vanilla and bc both deadmines and wc required level 10 and higher level dungeons went up gradually.

Maybe at some point in vanilla but even from the beginning? I remember low level twinks used to be able to loot the father of flame from ubrs and that item eventually became blue quality. Maybe maraudon does have a level requirement but the portal doesn't? I did farm for blade of eternal darkness at low levels at some point, 1-10 sounds familiar.

Anyways since classic isn't going to be exactly classic (based on the demo, sharding, loot trading etc) maybe the instance level requirements won't be exactly accurate.

I didn’t make my first tink until mid to late vanilla so not certain on that. It couldhve been implemented later on. I’d guess there will be reqs in classic.

I have no first-hand exp playing 39 warr/pala but from other classes' perspective I feel like 39 warr is superior to 39 ret in most scenarios/matchups. Paladins lack gap-closers and gets countered hard by priests and shamans. In sheer damage numbers maybe ret dmg/burst is higher than warr but overall 39 warr is just one of the most insane classes of the bracket. Lacking mortal strike really doesn't matter if you're twinked and wearing a POD--you'll still melt faces.

Thanks for input. Yeah I really don't want to have to deal with dispels and viper sting, mana burn etc. Also buffing and drinking. Definitely going warrior, assuming I even get a POD lol. So you fought POD wars, do you remember if any of them were 'casting' slam?

Classic is finally dragging me back too the game. After I level a main I'll likely roll a 39or 29 again. I played 19 and 29 later but my early days were 39s. Depends on the population of each bracket for me. Hoping some of the other old reckoning 39s come back
