so.. warlocks in this bracket, worth it?

I love the idea of twink warlocks.. so far I've made a 19-29 one (mainly interested in aff and destro) but I just feel like all other casters outclass locks, no matter the gear or the time trying to find a place in bgs, is 49 any different?

If not could you recommend another bracket where locks are stronger?

thanks

Warlocks can be okay, ive seen a 2600 chaos bolt hit me before. But unless you run with a group you'll just be eaten alive over and over

With the honor talent granting chaos bolt 65%+ damage available at level 40+, I'd say warlocks are more than viable. I play it at 59 and I can drop other twinks in seconds.

You can make nothing alone and is not easy to win a 1vs1 situation. This is the problem in all brackets as a Warlock, in my opinion.
All melees knock you down at few seconds. Its easy to kill you and you are the first taget in almost all situations.
.
Has a look at the official 2vs2 or 3vs3 latter, you see very, very few WL at the top, but if you see at the latter of the RBG, the situations will chance. This can be the moment of a WL. If you have a team, especially enough heal, and the team has a plan ... a WL can make a big pressure at the ememy team.
.
If you has no team, choose better a other caster-class, maybe boomi or mage ... just my 2 cent.

I'd say give it a go. Warlock is a really fun class to play & highly rewarding for the fact it's outclassed by so many melee.

I'd say that the higher level you are, the better equipped you are to deal with melee as at 49 you won't have Unending Resolve, Mortal Coil or Demonic Portal.

I play Warlock at 60 and I can pull some impressive numbers in all 3 specs.

Forget it if you think you'll be beating Reti palas, Fury warriors or monks in 1v1 fights. It's just not going to go your way.
Casters are actually pretty easy as an affliction warlock. You have spell reflect, an interrupt, fears and more healing than most of them.
Your burst is pretty good too with enough shards.

Battlegrounds are where you will shine.

Its actually very possible to counter melee users as a warlock. Just run tailoring & use those 35yd nets. I believe they are obtainable in vanilla professions, not quite sure though

I think you can get the Neatherweave Net. But that's a 3s net and not alone going to turn a fight on it's head.

I use these 3 second nets on my 59 Warlock, and I can guarantee that it will turn the tides of battle. They do not break upon damage, nor do they DR with roots/freezes. A player would have to either trinket out or rely on a hand of freedom to escape the net. We are talking warlocks here - a TON of damage can occur in 3 seconds of freecast.

I hear you. But a decent fury warrior, reti and ww monk shouldn't be too phased.

The rest of melee are pretty easy tbh. A good rogue will be difficult to beat but not impossible.

Make what you want, people get too stuck on FOTM classes, A good player on any class at 49 is viable. Some are just a lot easier to do okay at. Don't be a follower, be a trend setter

I am enjoying my little destro lock, great damage output and great control with fear/succubus.

someone correct me if im wrong, i believe the netherweave net requires outland tailoring to use, so no go for 49s anymore unless you are gf.

You must be right - I'm sure I used to use these in lower brackets at some point. Almost certain they were in vanilla...

Always been a fan of so called "gimped" classes in the twink brackets. I've been playing Aff lock and enjoying the hell out of it, but still pretty new to the class and this bracket. Looking to see if I'm missing or need to look into anything on stat priority, talents or gear wise, still need to grind out Postmaster... Feel like I'm putting up decent spread dmg and good finishing power with multi dot Deathbolts, also decent defensive capabilities with Nether Ward and Dark Pact/Living Action potion macro... It never hurts to ask others imo.

It was a BC addition.

edit- there's the gnomish net thing from ENG from vanilla tho. Netomatic projector or something?

Sometimes you would net yourself when it failed....
(oops, didn't realize it was a necro)

Does the new Demon Armor pvp talent let them survive a couple more seconds against fury warriors?

I have now been playing warlock for a little bit, warlocks are definitely viable and not a hindrance to your team at all. I Will say though that destruction feels leagues above the other two specs. My Chaos bolts can hit anywhere from 1800 to 4400 depending how buffed I am, and sending two of those back to back is almost always a death sentence to anyone. Immolate is a decent hitting dot so you still have decent rot damage too. With that said it's incredibly easy to counter, if you're no good with positioning or being able to pull out someone's kick you're going to find it difficult to get those CBs off.

This is my warlock for a gear reference - https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/bleeding-hollow/Butterscòtch

No, not worth it at the moment. One on one if you have the pvp conflagerate root talent and succi out, you might have some success against melee. But focused chaos is great in a group battleground.
