Lil’ XT, Cenarion Hatchling, Moonkin Hatchling, Grinning Reaver, Armored Bloodwing, Swift Windsteed, Crown of Eternal Winter, the fiery Jewel of the Firelord, and the demonic Hood of Hungering Darkness are all being retired on January 6, 2019.

Items in the See You Later Bundle will enter hibernation on January 6, 2019 and will no longer be available in the Blizzard® Shop or in-game shop (until further notice). These items may return at some point in the future.

This is a dynamic bundle, which means the bundle’s total price will be reduced if you already own one or more of the items this bundle contains. Log in to see your price.

"retiring" lol. They see the profits are down on these specific mounts/pets/etc so for instant revenue, they bundle them together and make the announcement to milk things that ceased to be financially successful.

It's smart but it's also what's making the playerbase hate them, which in turn is not smart long-term.

Comment on MMO champion sums it up. They're trying to keep investors/day-traders on-board.

How about you pay your employees (mostly designers) more and put these types of items in the actual game to unlock? I miss when companies weren't so corporate like they are now. Blizzard, Bungie, etc used to be the shining pinnacle of game developers. Now they're nothing but mask-wearing suits.

“Get it now before it’s too late”

Sounds like every marketing slogan that’s been used on tv commercials in order to sell a cheap product.

Not only will this idea bring people to spend money on the bundle, it will make buyers feel like they need to purchase new items from the shop in case they ever get thrown into a “retirement” bundle one day lol

I know these items have been around for a while and probably take up some space in the shop...although, I can’t help but laugh at the simple fact that blizzard thinks it’s necessary to state that these might return in the future. (Meaning that they will have a demand for them when newer players never had the chance to purchase the bundle).

I give them props for giving people a specific timeframe to decide if they want to purchase the bundle, especially around Christmas time xD

I don’t get the negative hype here. You don’t have to have these items to progress in the game, they’re simply vanity. Unlock them with tokens. You don’t even have to spend any rl money on them. I’ll probably convert some gold to acquire them. Why would the player base hate them for reducing costs on items they’ve provided the option of acquiring either in-game or quickly with cash?

I've noticed more "deals" on microtransactions over actual deals on the cost of the game lately.

If it were as simple as that, yeah I wouldn't care. But as I stated, it's content they could easily have un-lockable in-game. More quality of life improvements for players to continue their subscriptions over short-term profiting like they're doing now. From a company perspective they aren't playing it smart. From a higher-up employee's perspective, they're probably looking at large cash-flow short term so they can get those big bonuses and retire early. Here's former blizzard co-founder/diablo creator on the matter.

It's also a little funny because of the truth-syrum, er, alcohol.

Most of the developers at Blizzard are Blizzard fanboys, not the original developers who created our beloved Intellectual Properties. Those guys are all retired swimming in their Scrooge McDuck piles of gold coins. The fanboys are trying to get there too, hence all the shady micro-transaction incentives.

The only one vanity item I ever bought from Blizzard was the very original Vanilla copy of WoW in Collector's Edition form (that account has been lost since though, I was supposed to try and recover it, but kind of slacking in that department). However, I am considering upgrading my Warcraft 3: Reforged pre-purchase to the Spoils of War Edition for a mere $10 for that Catapult mount. Cheapest, most valuable vanity item to-date, and would probably be my last.

cant understand why blizz wants to include this line in their post "These items may return at some point in the future" .. it puts off whatever thoughts i have on buying the bundle

Third ~ 45$ price tag in last 3 month. Oof they are going mad broke.

else they are opening can of warms with potential lawsuits for misleading marketing if they are to bring it back later.

blizzard thinks it’s necessary to state that these might return in the future.

Because somewhere down the road it'll be "Back for a limited time! Get them now before it's too late!!"

I’ll probably convert some gold to acquire them.

Token prices jumped up a bit, im guessing you're not alone. I actually got the bundle myself, but with tokens I already had I was saving for sub time on my second account... thing is, after they announced the grand plan to eliminate XP locking 110+ I wont be re-upping that second account. Or the main, when it runs out. Not for this terrible development team.

It doesn't matter that they are backpedaling on it, the decision was made once. Time to move on. Lots out there.
