Eredar Splitter/Warforge Question

Hello,

Just came back to WoW after quitting during WOTLK where I had both a 19 Warlock and a 39 Rogue, as well as the #1 Gs Ret paladin on my server for roughly 1 month during Wrath's release. I have my lvl 19 rogue somewhat finished now, but I have been seeing a couple rogues with ilvl 34 Eredar Splitter(s)..And obviously I am blown away because they are, I believe, a full 1 dps higher than my ilvl 23 Buzzsaw etc.

I don't even know what Invasions are, my main is lvl 84, I don't know what War Forging is...I have been asking in BG's and in General chat for like 3 days solid lol, no one will tell me, so I came here.

can anyone explain how to get these items? What I think is BIS is turning out to not necessarily be the case. Please help.

Cant get them anymore, invasions was an event that happened during the legion prepatch
 
Can't get them anymore. Specific items that dropped during an event in Legion.

Warforge is basically an RNG upgrade to the baseline weapon. Like getting an ilvl 30 version of your Buzzsaw instead of an ilvl 23 one.

Event passed like 2 years ago. So these items are unobtainable, warforging was released in mop I believe, and has become more prevelent recently. Warforging has become a more common event in lower level twinks as well because of the afformentioned invasion event, there is a current way to obtain warforges but it is 60+. Long story short warforges is an rng system that increases the stats of an item by a certain amount depending on level, and is very low percentage to proc.

I'll add that you should be aiming for a blue BG crate weapon as the next best obtainable option (mainhand). Its ilvl 25 as opposed to the ilvl 23 dungeon gear..

Shadowfang/Bronze shortsword are also really good options. Definitely BiS offhand. Is pretty close, if not equal mainhand.
