THE guide to farming BiS BoE greens

Some quick notes on farming uldaman chests - the first chest here seems like it always spawns, the second one is up maybe half the time. I'm not sure if there's another location that pops if the second one isn't up, haven't looked that hard. The two regular chests are locked most of the time, so you'll want to run on a rogue or something with JC/Eng/Inscription/maybe BS?.

I usually just do a run here and there with a character parked at Ulda. If you log out at the end, you get ported back to the entrance after a couple minutes.

If you want to do a lot of farming at once, you can join and leave a group in the group finder before you get to the end. That'll start the 1 min timer to port you out of the instance. The other option is starting an LFR wing first. The first ToT one is pretty good since you can mount up there and vendor stuff. You queue for that (somewhere up around here), port out and head to the dungeon. When you get to the end, you just port into the LFR instance and port back out to get back to the entrance.

If you want to actually do full clears to make a bit of extra gold or look for rare drops, I'd recommend this video. Transmog markets are slow af though, probably more trouble than it's worth.

Eggcellent write up again. I think the LFR trick is leaps better for blocked out periods. For just a few runs here or there, the LFG works wonders, just start some bs custom group then 'leave your party' and it'll countdown.

I usually farm Ulda on my monk. You can use Zen Pilgrimage at the end of the run, wait the 1 min cooldown, and use it again and it'll return you to the beginning of the instance. Walk out, reset, rinse and repeat.

If you guys are looking for a time saver, here's a little trick that works well in Ulda. Make sure your hearthstone is destroyed, then use the following macro after looting the final chest. /click HelpFrameCharacterStuckStuck

This macro will trigger the in-game stuck feature (which would normally try to hearth you) and it will kill you and then place you at the front of the instance alive - simply run out, reset, and you are ready to run again. No durability taken, either. Works well for DM trinket farming, also. I assume it would make Gnomer runs easier as well.

this is some serious thinking outside the box. love it.

Ho. Lee. Shit. Amazing find.

Yeah, I was pretty happy about it lol.

Haven't farmed it super hard, but https://www.wowhead.com/item=15169/imposing-shoulders and https://www.wowhead.com/item=14428/windchaser-footpads were a couple of the more interesting unscaled drops I saw. I'm not sure if Lunar Mantle will drop unscaled in there. Based on what I've sort of kinda figured out and the loot tables it looks like it won't, but idk. This stuff's all over the place and you never know when it comes to world drops, wowhead data doesn't catch everything.

Can confirm that level 44 Lunar Mantle dropped for me in ZF. Was hunting the bracers, but got that instead. Nice little surprise...

Didn't think to screenshot it, so you'll just have to take my word for now.

Were you solo farming on a high level toon, or did you have an appropriate level twink along looting? I'm trying to find another spot besides Uldaman to farm for some greens with a high level toon.

I've been doing full trash runs in ZF with both a 39 and a 100. You need to loot on a 39 to get items for that level.

The 39's scaled loot will be level 36/ilevel 39 armor and level 39/ilevel 42 weapons/offhands. The unscaled loot will be in the 39-45 range (+5 ilevel).

Unscaled drops are still based on the mob's level, so you'll get level 55ish-60 required items on your high level. They'll just be items that originally required that level rather than items from the old loot table scaled to x1/x6. You can solo farm dungeons to figure out whether you'll get scaled or unscaled loot, but you'll need a lower level looting to get the right drops.

It's weird and hard to explain, I'm kinda thinking about writing something up about it but I'm not sure what that'd look like yet.

If you message me what you're looking to add, I'll toss it in with the guide and give you credit!

No worries, it is weird to wrap your head around, especially since its a group effort to nail down how exactly it all works. Wasn't sure if there were chests in ZF that the Lunar Mantle was pulled from. I've been having some success in Uldaman looting chests on my 110 rogue, but I'm starting to get repeats. Trying to find some other places with chests to farm to expand potential loot.
