Whats the longest amount of time youve farmed for a BiS?

I doubt theres many (if any?) bis twinks

Yep, considering we know there's 1 or 2 people with Legion BoE epics scaled down to lvl 19, yet nobody with a full set.

Haven't seen another person since with more of em. I think they patched it, unless people are too lazy and/or unwilling to help people get it. Takes like 5+ accounts to do so, I believe.

Looking back I wish I had gone harder during the legion prepatch. I kinda stopped after I got full wf/tf on my mage and I only have a few other wf/tf items on other characters.

it would take 11 accounts to get it on a 19

Any links?

I spent about an hour last night using forum and google keyword searches to find the post that linked the character, but it's been quite a while and I wasn't able to. But I'm almost certain it was a 19 ret paladin with an ilvl 56 epic neck. Unsure if that ilvl was before or after patch hit for ilvl squish. If I find it I'll link it here.

As someone else mentioned, it might take more-so around 11 accounts to do so.

The idea is that you use one account to tag an add (start at ilvl 89 I believe?; legion mobs scale down to 98), then tag it with a character that's 9 lvls below that, then another that's 9 lvls below that, and so on, until you reach the toon you want it on. Supposedly it works like a chain, in that you activate some way of surpassing the level gating required to loot high-end mobs (which is like 10 lvls). So in theory, you do this over and over (words can't express how grueling this grind would probably be) until you get an epic drop. Hopefully for your lowest character in the (raid) group.

There may be more to it, but this is the idea that's been shared around the forums at the time we noticed low lvl accounts with legion boes.

They may or may-not have already patched this. We just haven't had the willpower and/or money for a small group of people (or 1 person) to use so many accounts and try to pull this off to test.

Greens supposedly do not scale down such as the epics do (minimum scaling is 98). So it may only be the epics that behave this way, making the farm more grueling than one would think since it's constantly making you wonder if the whole trick is even workable.

I tried this farm once for my 91 twink at the time, and probably spent about 12 hours before throwing in the towel. Not about to spend my savings on on 10 more accounts and over-clock my computer for a small chance at something that people would simply report.

Who knows, maybe the shitface who got it tickled a GM's taint for it.

We're you the one that shared the script that kept characters from logging out? If so, I really appreciate it, that was a life saver for that crap.

No. But I used that as well. Helped my rest, but sadly didn't end the suffering D:

wasn't in 19s but i farmed for 2 years HARD daily for a magicians mantle on my 20 sham

never got one

i didn't save the file i was counting chests with, or maybe i used my ventrilo comment, but i believe the number was between 5600 and 5700 (mostly wetlands)

yikes

That would be an ungodly effort worthy of being ignored when reported!

Farmed stockades in cata for about 2 months straight, easily 3k plus partial clears, to get 2 perfect 4/4 eagle gloves and boots. Kept them in my bank for the memories then bfa hit. Rip. Even farmed up a set with +sp (was previously +healing) double rip.

Good times. I also got exalted with every city rep through dungeon clears before I got my "of stamina" satchel belt. That was easily over 150+ random dungeons that I solo qued. That was a painful grind. Again rip bfa.

Tell me about it. I had over 30 perfect wranglers wrists before BFA. Should have sold them when they were BiS. Picked them up off the AH. Not crazy enough to farm them of course

In cata probably 65+ hours of farming dungeons for 4/4 defender of the Eagle boots and gloves. Was lucky to find the grunts legguards on AH for cheap.
Also farming for the sorcerer belt was a pain back then too.
Not to mention I farmed all my looms on my twinks until you could buy them with gold.

currently going on a month for even one of the quickblade crate weapon, done got like 8 other ones of the firelash and auroa. And i've also got almost every other slot of the quickblade/adaptable but so far the weapons seem impossible to get.
