Water Strider Mount for F2p

I found a youtube clip (starting at 13:26) showing a f2p hunter using a water strider :

He didn't explained clearly exactly how he managed to get it. Does anyone know how an f2p (hunter or any classes) get a water strider mount?

Yea, he explains it around the 5-6 minute mark. He's linked his F2P account with his paid account by having them on the same Bnet account.

Unless you have a linked account. You’ll need to use either glitch form monk monetary to gain entry or someone to help you fly to the airship to MoP and then just gain rep from there (to bad that they nerfed fishing over there to get it now).

Even if you get the rep, the mount costs well over 1000 gold. Not obtainable for a f2p.

Technically ur f2p if u wait for the annual trial Blizz does around certain holiday times. So get ur 1k then

But do it on a dif toon that way u don’t lvl from banked xp

From what I understand, if you sub, all toons with banked XP are leveled, whether you log them in or not.

Its not annual but occasionally Blizz will do promotions with free game time. They just did one last month with three free days.

Any character you have with banked XP will be leveled, so fair warning.

Really? I was playing all the time didn't get any... Starter Edition excluded?

Yes, only F2P Pures (Aka, true Starter Editions accounts) will have that happen. From my understanding, it is not that way with veteran accounts.

Pretty sure that 3-Day trial only gives three days for the most current expansion, and only to those who purchased the game. My Starter Edition account did not receive any such trial.

When I know that's going to happen, I contact a GM and simply ask them to make sure my characters don't level when I sub and log-in.

The last GM I talked to helped me with this.
