Sorry, but your mindset is very lazy and uninformed. What he said is generally correct, as things are definitely played up on stream. We care a great deal about the people that watch the streams, though we may not express it or even joke about not caring during the stream. I spend a lot of time talking to people that watch, seeing what they think, I'm just like anyone else. Asmon is the same way, and anyone that watches his stream who has met him at Blizzcon will tell you the same thing.

So I don't really know what you're talking about when you say that. We're not monolithic companies that never have to interface with the public. It's weird that you'd assume as much.
 
When people don't have shit going on in their own lives, they tend to put others down. Hence the behavior that you saw in that thread. As fatfc said, I don't know why people really care about this, it's not like Asmongold wasn't also firing shots towards twinks; he said they couldn't play endgame despite that being demonstrably false, and he also has a reputation for being toxic. Either way who gives af about this. I'm sure it's just content for him.

I am too old to be part of the streamer demographic, but decided to check Asmongold's. To be perfectly honest, I am glad he and his fan base aren't really welcomed here, I understand streamers take on a certain persona to perform for their audience, turning the Let's Play format into a literal play. Now, I know some of his audience have come here to defend how he is an amazing person, but really, if you play an asshole online, you are an asshole.

Big WoW stream got sick of endgame and decided to try out twinking (39s). Various threads showed up about it, with many people being toxic and calling stream bad or random other shit. Streamer (who has toxic "stream personality") goes through on stream and reads the thread and is toxic in response. Some twinks are sad that we didn't leave a better impression and leverage a major streamer to make twinks more popular. Some twinks don't want the streamer and fans due to toxicity, blizz attention, general inbalance it would have on the bracket (if even 1% of viewers twinked same side as the streamer, it would really destabilize the numbers), etc.

And then people argue their various sides (x is toxic, y is toxic, toxic isn't bad, streamer is bad, etc) for many pages in many threads.
