Stat Priorities/Weights for a Disc Priest?

Hey everyone, I'm new to twinking in this bracket and was looking for some input over stat balance. There are a lot of items without intellect but hefty secondary stats and I'm trying to weigh the pros/cons of each. I don't know if there is a way to sim dps/hps to find out 1 int = 1.6 vers or something like that. Hoping to average hps/dps stat weights together to get a balanced set.

Currently my stat priorities are: Int>Vers=Crit>Haste

I don't see anything in there about stat weights or what to prioritize to optimize stats. I'm not trying to max out on vers, I want a balanced build. I won't be upset if a balanced build means getting stunlocked and dying sometimes.

If your healer, you might be focus targeted. Vers is a great stat to stack as well as int and stam. You will want the 5 int 5 crit gems, while maintaining decent vers, also try to get postmaster 2 set for quite a bit of melee dmg reduc, and don’t forget to not neglect stam, effective health pool is important for highly targeted classes like disc priests

Lmao edit. Change title name man. Balance druids have a diff setup than priests. But almost the same format
[doublepost=1540987123,1540986300][/doublepost]Check the armories of 59 balance druids. A lot are running int > crit > vers from what I can see. However I hate using “>”s because yes vers is the best stat to have as secondary’s on gear, but BIS gem is 5int5vers. So it’s like yea you want decent int, yea your want decent vers, the only thing that is neglected regularly is stam, not just this bracket. 19s I tend to see a lot of arcane mages, and shit like that rolling with pure int builds and like 1k health and I think to myself, your going to die before you do any damage. Same concept there

Personally I'd go int>haste>vers>crit.

If you die as a healer, it's mostly a positional error that can/should be fixed by the player. The more healing and damage you can dish out in an effective manner with a correct playstyle is much more beneficial. A good way to look at it is like this:

If you find yourself tanking a lot of damage (to the point where it gets hectic), then that means you're doing something wrong. If it's a repeat offence, then no matter how tanky you make yourself, it's not going to help, because vs proper twink teams you'll die anyways, or the pressure will be so immense that you do not have the time, focus and proper stats to keep your team alive at an efficient rate in that given situation.

Sure, it can be fun to be unkillable to the average pleb, but that shouldn't be that hard at all with different stats from prioritizing versatility.

Wait how did it switch into a balance druid discussion? "balanced build" refers to the stat optimization, not a class. A balanced stat optimization basically means to have the most efficient stats for the most generic situations.

Lmao read it wrong. However you mentioned haste over crit, what about the gems,
[doublepost=1540988055,1540987666][/doublepost]Also you mentioned how you will die eventually. Like it’s inevitable? Or maybe can be prevented with higher health pool to last thru stubs and silences? In which case in certain slots stam > int??? It’s all so questionable

The "dying eventually" comes from if you're adopting a playstyle where you revolve around being tanky and simply find yourself in bad spots where you are taking a lot of damage a lot of the time. This is simply a wrong way to play, because in one game it might work, and in another it might not. It really depends what you are facing and how many twinks etc. It is simply not possible to accumulate the amount of stam and vers that is required for you to be truely immortal if you're just face-tanking everything. You are also sacrificing a lot of stats that are more beneficial when applying a correct playstyle.

Let's look at it very black and white for the sake of easy understanding.

1) One game you are facing your typical levellers and a small portion of twinks. You are going the tanky route and you're having a blast just tanking left, right and center. You cannot die.

2) Now you're in a real nailbiter. Enemy team has more twinks than usual, and face-tanking everything becomes a lot harder. They use their stuns and kicks somewhat effectively, keeping you on your toes. You're now put in the situation of inevitably dying. Why? Because you either cave to the initial pressure, or you are now so heavily focused at keeping yourself alive that your team around you is dying, increasing the amount of enemies hitting you in the end as you're the last target (and one of the only targets available at that point in time) due to everyone else being dead. You do not have the time nor correct stat optimization to keep your team alive, should you adapt on the fly to play a more positionally oriented due to your face-tanking not working to the same extent as in example 1.

You want to avoid falling into the trap of deploying example 1 and finding yourself in example 2. You want to go with what will be the most effective in the most generic of situations, and play that to your advantage.

With a stat priority that allows you to heal and deal damage effectively while playing more positionally correct, and being aware of your surroundings is a lot better. Because now, you no longer find yourself in situations you can't handle as often as before, moreover, you are able to keep your team alive better AND assist on damage. In other words, you are way, way, way more effective on the field.

Thanks for the feedback guys, there is a lot to read through here I'll try to get back to you all tomorrow when I have time :)
I was planning on using the +5 int +5 crit gems, based on the brief bits of your posts that I have read I think I'm going to aim for 10% haste
