I don't have a 39 to be apart of whatever community there is, I don't plan on rolling one to be apart of some current fad nor have I watched very many of his videos. If he really got upset or bothered that a few random ppl on this site called him names then i don't believe this site or twinking will be for him.
You can't put a bow on a dead tree and sell it as a Christmas tree in July. Does that make sense? No, and neither does pretending like this site or majority of twinks aren't toxic at times.

If you really are the person talking to asm, which I question without any proof, please inform him that there are many other brackets to twink in. I would love an influx of 29s to come and make bgs challenging again. Also 19s seem pretty fun as well with the twist of no mounts. Just saying, if he doesn't like 39s just give other brackets a chance before he and his fans leave.

I think they said something about going to the 59s next, then the 19s after the stream was over.

Well, this thread is going about how I imagined it would.
I'm generally helpful and nice, though I admit I do make jabs at people and have a bit of fun with that. Yes, I made a few quips about the streamers.
But honestly, the toxicity has always sucked here. It's flat out been embraced. Remember the massive QQstorm when DeLindsey and Selaya were in charge, and moderation was actually enforced? You know, posts actually followed TOU and were constructive. Working as a community was encouraged, and it was more than just "kekekek GET REKT, lol!" 19s flaming everyone? Yeah, some of us actually enjoyed it. But the majority of the people complained, just kept spamming and getting banned, and then everyone said "Fuck it..." and it went back to how it was.
That has ups and downs. For whatever reason, some people have this asinine notion that you need to insult people and repeatedly destroy people in game and out to "breed competition" and for the community to thrive. And that's more or less twinking in a nutshell to a large portion of people here. It drives people away from certain backets, and some people away from twinking entirely. Certainly, at least, away from this forum.
However, that's just how it is, unfortunately. That is the ideology of things around here.
Now, instead of pulling a Tseric, I'm just going to go back to my neck of the forum and let you all continue. ^_~

I plan to try everything if I can manage the gold for it. I've always been partial to 39s specifically, maybe because of nostalgia, but also I feel it hits the sweet spot between doing more with less abilities, but still being able to 3-4 shot someone and staying fun. I've never really bought into the idea that every twink just wanted equal footing. Exp-off brackets being their own thing definitely hurt shit due to long queues. Most of the fun for me just comes from slaughtering people leveling. I mean fuck it dude, it's fun.
My problem with twinking so far is that a lot of the armories provided in the threads on this website are either outdated, or contain a majority of GF'd fucking Legion invasion gear. I can see how there might be a little value in showing an armory like that, but for the majority of people, it's not. I get whispered all the time now about bis gear that, what do I spec this, and I point them to armory threads and they come back like yo, how do I get this felforged shit and I just tell them they're fucked. So more and better updated armories would help me rope more people into twinking.
I don't really care that much about the toxicity, it wasn't that bad, but it definitely felt a little gatekeep-ish. Idk the bear avatar guy, seems like an unnecessary dickhole to me, I really don't care for people who rip into my friends for stupid reasons. But yeah, I read pretty much everything everywhere that has to do with Asmon's stream, so I appreciate Sun's and other people's posts about being more welcoming and whatnot. That was cool.

To be fair mon, a lot of the blues in bg crates can override the legion gear. Despite that I have my characters in my armory have them, been to busy at end game farming to deal with updating them.

That's true, BG blues are really good. Just kind of frustrating to see felforged gear. I am all for GF'd gear, don't get me wrong. I think it's badass to have something no one can ever get now, but when it comes to guiding people into gearing up a twink, doesn't help.

I am working on an enhance shammy atm and yeah the shamans on the enhance part of the list are a little out of date, oh well I get to just theorycraft and fiddle around on my own for a bi I guess. idk who managed the list but it must be a time consuming task to ensure everything is up to date at all times.
Maybe new guides could be made on a class/spec basis for bis? not an armory list but an actual post? I woudl try it myself but I dont know 1005 for sure what is or is not bis for any classes.

I will add, I don't know Asmon's intentions in terms of doing twinking on stream. I know he likes his mage, and he wants to do a 59 boomkin because of the Moonform video I showed him awhile ago. Other than that, I know he will keep his twinks but can't speak for how long he'll play them seriously. Sadly, big streamers tend to hit something very hard for awhile and then move on to something else that will garner viewers/attention. I can't promise he won't do the same, because I know he wants to move into doing Project 60 after Blizzcon, but I will do what I can to hype him into continuing to twink, and getting people in the guild to keep going as well.

Just bringing in 2-3 ppl is pretty sick tbh the more the merrier. I would like to see most games have 3-5 twinks on both sides or maybe even wargames.

I didn't honestly believe it was you (fanboys, fake accounts, etc etc) but from your reply and someone mentioning you said something on steam I guess I should address your points. I'm on my phone atm due to computer being broken atm..
1. Don't you both get hundreds of thousands of gold just by going into SW? I think you would have enough to twink in every bracket on each faction haha
2. I haven't played 39s but what you say is alot of what I hear about it. Few more spells, slightly better balanced and more gear options. Definitely better people to ask about that bracket.
3. I think the reasoning is honestly different for each person. You'll find alot of people who are bad at endgame and twink to feel good. You'll find alot of people who don't want to level to endgame so they stop sooner to focus on pvp.
I'm unsure if you know of it or were into twinking at the time but imo one of the best times for twinking was cata F2P/starter. It had the most helpful content, most helpful people and some of the most unique playing experiences. I started as a lv 20 F2P but became a veteran(subbed once but stopped paying and remained lv 20). For me it wasn't to slaughter lvers it was to have those thrilling last minute wins/losses of a 20 min close wsg. I HATE xp on being merged with xp off queues but that is because my bracket always had the fastest queues anyways. I can understand 19s or 39s or others wanting xp on/off merged to increase the 30+ minute queue times.
4. BIS.. well I'm full legion gear but I can understand the frustration completely. I actually got frustrated this week too because of it! Found myself farming the purple rings even though they aren't bis from the HH just because I wanted epics.. this is something I'm sure a few people from each bracket can do. I honestly don't know what BIS even is anymore. There are many things this forum is lacking on or needs to be updated so thanks for pointing one of them out so we can fix.
5. I hate to sound cliquish but if you look at someones profile and they have under 100 posts and/or have been here for less than 6 months it might be good to take it with a grain of salt... At the same time I've been here for over 5 years and I'll still find myself going off on people every now and then. So basically... majority of the people here can be assholes at times but can also be extremely helpful at times.
Tl;dr: Thanks for replying and even putting some thought into it. Don't put too much emphasis on "mains" if judging people on here. My main is lv 104 with like 3 days played compared to my lv 20 with 300+ days. Thank you and asm for bringing attention to a dying breed of WoW even if for a short time. Tell like 5,000 of your "fans" to come play 20-29s! That's only like 10% right? I'm sure 39s can give up 10% ^.^
