Blackvenom Blade Theory

Thats not really a valid thing the ring of precision is a zone drop in a zone that is minimum req 20 so other rules apply to that. My basis for thinking this could be a thing is that similar items that has drops from rares scale below the supposed minimum req. Howling blade, feathered headress, blackrock kickers, pacifer and so on. So there is quite some "proof" that this might be the case. Still farming. Would appreciate any further info i can get from people.

It's about 12-14 boxes per run, and it takes 20-25 minutes to complete 10. It's a pretty decent method if you're doing something else with the other half hour, running two accounts, or something like that.

Ah yeah sorry my bad. Like i said its been a couple of years since i did it. I Also farmed murlocs in wetlands, but maybe they changed that to. For me assassins blade and blackvenomblade dropped form a box wich i got form murlocs along the coast of wetlands

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t assasin’s blade a SFK zone drop?

Yes and evocator and doomspike are BFD zone drops and they can all be found in the lockboxes.

BFD zone drop floor level is 20 so it wont scale below that same with Doomspike and assas wont scale below 16.

Do all daggers from classic dungeons behave in this way? If so then then there is no such thing as a instance only dagger drop, and they fall in their own special category.

Well I don't think there are more than those 3 but ye pretty much all daggers in the level range can be found in these boxes.

So what i do is farm it on a trial level 110 char and then open them and send them to my 19 Rogue.
It's a tedious thing but here's my results so far. I've gotten 1 doomspike (This did not scale since it's a dungeon MinIlevel item) and 1 Talon of Vultros. The good news is that the Talon of Vultros did scale. it scaled to level 19. What also further supports this theory is that the Howling Blade scales to level 19 even though it used to be req level 31. As with Talon of Vultros tho' it has had several level requirements over the years. I have also gotten Blood Ring Nonscaled. Demon band Non-scaled and a couple of other rings nonscaled. A fair amount of Recipes non of note so far.

My call anyway is that i hope people see this post and try it out themselves. As i have farmed so much now that i hope to see someone get lucky just to get a confirmation that it still drops and if it then scales. We might be looking at an 8 agi proc dagger for 19s.

Thank you for reading it out. Please post comments if you have any confirmed drops as of lately from the boxes.(screenshots would be appreciated aswell.) as i am reluctant to try and farm the rare because of scaling tech and how items used to drop. That would be easier however i guess. But i am not entirely sure what the droprate is at.

Maybe Doomspike didn’t scale because it is an instance drop, and howling + talon scaled because they are not. Which is good news for you because BVB is a non instance drop. Are you selling the dagger if you get it? Also would I be able to pay people on my realm to farm lock boxes and COD to a 19 rogue?

Reading the OP he already seems onboard with that and thats why he is still going its just the rest of the people in there thread having questions.

It depends on if the level 20 evocators blade was ilvl 25 or ilvl 23
If it was 25 then it is the old version which means
 
My only concern on this theory is that items like stendels wedding band do NOT scale. Doesn’t this item behave in a similar way? You open it from the box?

I know people have scaled versions of this dagger, but from every one I have seen, they did not get them from opening boxes but rather having GM help.. can someone update me on this? Has anyone had one actually scale?

It was ilevel 23. Which perfectly supports my claim for this dagger. It's just about getting lucky i am 95% sure it will scale. unless they have manually gone in and made it not scale. If that is not the case it should behave as all the other daggers in the boxes so evocator's blade scales. just not to level 19. it mins at 20. but as i said earlier Talon of Vultros scaled to 19 when it dropped from the box so. It's just a matter of people doing this. Help me guys just keep unlocking boxes on 19s. (open them)

And yes you could as people to COD u Battered Junkboxes. i Would advice you to ask for them still locked tho' As people peeking in them might ruin the scaling.

That is also why i am asking people, there just isn't any info anywhere on this dagger concerning these changes. especially for below level 21. That is why i'm trying to do this. This is possibly a super BiS dagger for the 19 bracket aswell it's just a matter of getting it to drop. I also see no reason why it shouldn't drop. RNGesus be with us all!

This is good news indeed so yes the bvb should scale from those
 
Yeah it definately is making me believe more and more in my cause! Feels like i'm getting there, just been really unlucky considering now i've gotten all of the other daggers just not BVB. :/ it'll come eventually tho' :)) keeping my hopes up

60k? That's dedication.

How many evocator blade's did you get? I remember farming for BvB a while back and got 1 drop out of 4k lockboxes.
