Ok so for rouges the shadowfang is BiS at for off hand and also good for main hand. I was wondering untill you farmed them up, what people thing of the stinging viper.
You loose out on agi but get some stam and there is the chance to poison would that be any good?

As much as I like the design of Stinging Viper, its fairly lackluster. The main reason we use Shadowfang is the agility. The proc is an ok bonus, but ultimately procs for very little and isn't worth much. The proc from Stinging Viper is 15damage every 3 second for 15s for a total of 75 damage (which will go up with verse). Unfortunately the 3 agility is probably more reliable. The proc can proc elemental force, but since ele force is RPPM - that only really matters for poison ticking when you aren't in range. Poisons can also screw up CC options, which is something to consider.

So ultimately, it has the same weapon damage as Shadowfang, but 3 less agility. The proc doesn't really make up for it. And as Selmafudd mentioned - Bronze Shortsword exists, which is basically a Shadowfang with its 6agility, but with no proc. Bronze Shortsword is like 99% as good as Shadowfang for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper.

That all being said, if you don't care about wargames or being good - grab a couple of Stinging Vipers and do something silly like playing Assassination with poisons. Like I said - its not good and you lack the ranged slow that is pistol shot. But it can be pretty fun.

Wow awesome reply thanks for the info!

Also on a different note im from australia and play an oceanic server would playing a higher pop us server make q times for 19s go down or wouldn't really matter due to cross realm

It won't affect your queue time, I play on both and OCE and NA and see the both sets of servers playing together.

Thought so i have seen people from us servers in with me
Oceanic servers end up in US queues.
I wouldn’t set up on a US server as the ping from Aus is like 200 min in the US. Stick to Oceanic, you’ll be fine.

Also, an aside, Assis Rogues use daggers so the mace wouldn’t work for a fun Assis Spec. U could get the daggers from the underwater boss in BFD for some fun........ check out my Vet Horde Rogue...... it’s DoT central!

U'r wrong my frand.. U can enter BFD as 15,but for RDF queue u need 20..so,same lvl req for drop as in Gnomer.. Boss drop can be downscaled only to lvl req for queue => no dagger for 19'

As Hazeman says, you can't get the BFD dagger. However you also don't have any abilities that require daggers unless you take that one talent. So you can actually go assassin without daggers.

Dang! Been a while since I’ve queued 19 dungeons, didn’t remember that BFD is 20’s for the queue. No Daggers then! :(

Dang again! When did this change? I haven’t stayed in tune with Rogues for some time - since Daggers aren’t required, then Assis should be using One-Handers!

Aarrrggghhh, I’m so behind the times

Panda Rogue! I'm actually considering making a pair of "Fatal" Panda Rogues.

As someone who has intensively tested most of the available weapons in various combos I will say that Viper is pretty underrated as an OH imo, you are trading 3 agi for 5 stamina and a pretty decent proc over Shadowfang.
The proc is fairly common, has no icd, can proc on anything you do including pistol shots and can proc satyr/2 ele forces per tick (every 3 secs).

The only disappointing thing is that dual wielding them doesn't yield double procs or atleast I never got it to happen in about an hour of hitting things or even seem to increase ppm, it just refreshed itself. Might be to do with the reworked procs on some weapons that went from Chance on Hit to Equip and I can't confirm the ppm issue, wouldn't mind knowing though as it would make using dual Darkwater Talwar pointless on a 20-29, started rolling Vibroblade/Talwar and didn't really notice a drop in procs.

You can however use the Serpent's Kiss axe from the rare in WC in the MH for a dual poison proc setup which is pretty nice in longer fights for some extra pressure on healers. 4 ticks every 6 secs can add up with ele force taken into account as well.

I like the sound of using one of them an OH. I got myself some bronze shortswords but Im gonna try farm up a viper and give it a shot. And then maybe try farm up a shadowfang eventually haha
