Healers over dpsing everybody?

I've noticed not only that druids are the new Surv hunters but also that healers ( Even MC'fucking paladins) are outdpsing everything

This ain't a crypost since I play druid ( I'm sorry ), but I just want to see if it's true or i'm just too noob to realise that i'm wrong.

Not exactly everybody, and resto sham is worse.

But the entire idea of having a healer top damage and killing blows is a bit moronic.

But it is what it is.
 
This is because Blizzard wanted to make the insentive that healers should be able to level on their own merits. As in, healers should be able to quest without having to go DPS or Tank.

As such, they buffed their damage. At higher level this is unnoticeable but at lower level the DPS specs do not have all their spells, their interractions between spells, their intricacies that make the spec more complete. Healers however already have all their spells. This means that at lower level a healer does more damage than most DPS specs as a result.

Which, on it's own sounds like an okay idea.

But it just pushes further away from ever having to group, and making the game feel more and more like a single player game while leveling.

They could modify their spells to deal more damage on pve non boss mobs just like how damage is reduced vs players to somewhat fix this in low lvl pvp

Or, how Tanks take more damage in PVP. Healers could do less damage in PVE. Just cap it percentage wise as a debuff.
 
Oh im sure they have a few ways they can easily change it but when have they every cared about twinks? Blizzard hates the idea of twinks and they watch fourms like this just to laugh at us I swear.

this is wrong imo

it doesn't really have anything to do with ability combos. boomkins pretty much have their core combo at 19, arc mages just use 1 ability, and they do comparably strong damage. rshams do insane dmg with flame shock, mw monks with teachings of the monastery passive (which is an ability combo.)

this argument just doesnt consistently apply. also there's the basic logic that any damage boost to help healers level should NOT result in MORE damage than a pure dps spec. mw monk does astronomically more damage AND healing than ww monk which makes no sense, but they do less damage than arcane mage (a one-button dps spec) which makes even less sense.

if it's blizzard's goal to make healers more viable for leveling, then it doesn't make sense to make dps specs within the same class LESS viable for leveling. the penalty of living longer means killing things slower, that's how the game has been since day 1.

TLDR it's just a scaling problem and blizzard has sucked at balancing anything for 14 years.

as leek said healers should just get a massive damage nerf, but blizz will not balance the game based on lower brackets. thats why arc mages got buffed while enhance shamans got nerfed.

also warriors do good damage but are not a good class in this meta just throwin that out there Bv)
 
Its a bit of everything. Most healers do get their basic damage abilities/combos rather early on - the monk combo for example. A lot of dps specs lack some of their key abilities and passive interactions. Arcane mage is just broken scaling on top of a constant chain of ele force procs. Boomkin has their solid kit early on (which is enough even without all the interactions leveling up).

Add in that a good chunk of damage comes with ele force/hidden satyr. Without any amazing healing enchants, its an easy choice to put those on as a healer most of the time. Greatly increases damage, especially for healers with a dot like flame shock or moon/sunfire. Scales with vers too.
 
One contributing reason healers do so much damage on the scoreboard is that they have an ever attentive pocket healer. Especially when positioned to be the last person alive from a fight and so have the highest uptime.
 
The fact a great majority of the 10-19 bracket has 500 health, and a resto druid, Disc/Holy priest or resto shaman can simply dot an enemy once and kill them with 2 elemental force ticks doesn't help either.

that fact that some idiot lvl 10 paladin can run up and hoj me for 5 seconds completely justifies me being able to ruin their experience by 2 shotting them with any given spell ^_^
 
Cheap shot is more annoying coz you see it more often

HoJ is just gay when a random pala leveler drops it on you allowing their squad of scrubs to take down the big mighty twink

Maybe I'm just terrible at this game but how? I spam judgment and crusader strike... even consecration a lot in games and I do a fraction of the dps of a hunter pet. Am I doing something wrong? The dps output of holy paladins has been a joke since they removed denounce.

I could totally be wrong but at this point I feel like I have a pretty decent idea of what the class is capable of and this seems like a hyperbole to me. Dont get my hope up please :(

It is not unnoticeable. Discs are monsters at 120.
