Looking to get back into twinking, have some questions about specific classes

Hey guys, I've been looking to get back into twinking recently, I wanted to know how the following classes are doing in the 20-29 bracket these days

-Protection Warrior
-Brewmaster Monk
-Frost Mage
-Ret Pally

Also, which rogue spec is currently the most viable?

Thanks for any help

Prot war : Feeder tier
Brewmaster monk: see above
Frost mage: only useful as a polymorphing vending machine
Ret Pally: ok i guess

Mist weaver with fang set is supposedly good, I still can’t get the belt and gloves to drop lol

mw is one of the best healers rn
I haven't seen any wws since legion but they were good then, should be good now

top tier for dps
  • outlaw rogue
  • mm hunter
  • druid
  • warrior (29)
healers
  • all of them, have fun
I didn't have the intent to rank these, but I kind of did. Outlaw can literally oneshot if pistol shot procs. and with stats mattering again i'd say all healers are good in their own ways

Wouldn't say they are garbage, but in the hands of a rather good (some may say eccentric ) player they will do fine. Ret and frost are fine.

I think, he mean, stun from stealth->sinister with proc->pistol(5CP rn)->betwen eyes... Mostly it work as "1shoting" mages, resto shams or any lo geared char. .

Yes, that combination of skills can kill ungeared pugs. I'm not sure how relevant that is to twinking in general

I've seen Wind Walker Monks that are tier 1 players roll BGs, but being good with that spec trumps your gear, unlike some other classes/specs. It won't carry itself like a Rogue/Hunter/Resto/Disco etc. If you are bad, it will be bad.. if you are good, you can just wreck nerds.

With that being said, it is also one of the most gear intensive specs in the 29s. Once you have dual vibro-blades with Elemental Force and other things of that nature... you just destroy people. But if you are just stacking agility and hoping for things to happen... just go play Rogue you have to do less/think less/play less for the same results.

I played with a dual Vibro Blade WW the other day and asked him why not Darkwater talwars... he just said "watch"... the proc just turns priests/mages/any other clothie in to just a bag of poop in 1 second because it stripes them bare-assed to zero armor... plus its universally good for anybody hitting that target. He said he wanted 2 just because the more the proc is up the better (it does not stack). I was sold... unfortuantly perfect Vibroblades sell for like 2million (you can get a low level one for maybe 500k if you are on a shit server)

Plus as WW you get to be a rare-bird... we can use less retards playing Rogue / Hunter or Arcane mage.

This is my 29 WW monk:

Still working on gear (need blue BG gear etc) but with a vibroblade proc I can do 1.8kish damage in a fist of fury with a chi wave and a black out kick straight after it. That's average though, it can range between 1.4-2.2k depending on procs and crits. Usually always top damage at the end of a BG.
Biggest issue with monks is not having a kick until 35 so just end up pressuring the healer as much as possible hoping to get a lucky chain of crits.

Would you go with two vibroblades if you had the opportunity? I know the proc does not stack, but maximizing the chance of the proc on one/multiple targets... is that better than giving up the Darkwater Talwar offhand.

I can't speak much of 29s (or at all). But for 20s it's a little different.

Mistweaver Monks are VERY GOOD at level 20, the heals are good (Make sure to stack https://www.wowhead.com/spell=115151/renewing-mist with https://www.wowhead.com/spell=124682/enveloping-mist, and than spam https://www.wowhead.com/spell=116670/vivify while channeling https://www.wowhead.com/spell=115175/soothing-mist - All four of these healing spells have synergy), and the DPS is surprising too (Get 3 Stacks with https://www.wowhead.com/spell=100780/tiger-palm for a massive https://www.wowhead.com/spell=100784/blackout-kick).

Beast Master Hunter is a good level 20 spec (I prefer it in stead of Marksman).
Arcane Mage is pretty good at 20 (Not from my personal experience, I don't play mages), but they are definitely FotM.

With the CD on Priests's https://www.wowhead.com/spell=17/power-word-shield gone, Discipline Priests are the best 20s Healers currently. Although there is a case to be made for 20s Shaman as well, but I don't know anything about 20s Shaman.

MW is fun but hard to do anything other than heal, at least for me I always find myself healing even tho I do pretty good damage.

I agree with MW, however unless someones at a very very low amount of HP, envelopmist mist, soothing mist and renewing mist are incredible, as spamming vivify will run you low of mana. Sticking with this, I haven't gone oom once, and of course I keep the lesser mana potions on me just incase.

MW is fun but hard to do anything other than heal, at least for me I always find myself healing even tho I do pretty good damage.

It's all situational. I've had many situations where I'm just spamming heals, but other times where I can do damage and I end up on top, or very close. Mid fights in eots or WSG are where I focus on healing most, but even just a rising sun kick or a 3 stack of blackout kick if you can manage it can be enough to finish off a healer and win you a team fight.

The only real problem with MistWeaver is that you are doing the same thing a Resto Shaman does... just worse. If you are evenly geared in Super Intelligence gear (which you should be)... as a MW you are attacking up close and you in more danger all the time, and your heals are pretty much similar. You can heal more as a MW, but not by much, but the damage is WAY in Resto's favor... and its ranged damage so you are less likely to just me killed.

I do like both, but... resto just has the true power here.

20 mage > 29 mage?
