Confidence VS Ego. Whats the difference?

difference is that ppl with confidnce know and accept their limits :>

If you have to even ask the question, then you've already gotten it wrong.

It's like what George Steinbrenner (former owner of the NY Yankees) said, when asked by a reporter about all of the charity work/donations he did, that if you've done something for someone and more than that person knows about it, then you've done it for the wrong reasons.

One is expressed outward the other is kept to one's self.

Both can really be shown outward or kept to one's self.

I guess the best way to describe it, is that ego is what makes you believe you are unique or special. If anyone tramples on your ego, which happens on a day-to-day basis, you will likely become defensive and/or self-loathing. Thing is, you aren't special.

Confidence, on the other hand, is more of a positive way of thinking. Confidence can be hindered by stupidity and ego. Like if someone were to do something self-destructive and beyond the realm of their capability, that would be stupidity. An ego can effect this in a similar way, causing you to possibly do something stupid in order to protect your ego. Confidence itself is usually a good thing, though. It's a means of pulling through to get something done. Usually this 'something' will bring you self-satisfaction. Whereas if you hadn't, you will probably be filled with a sense of regret and other negative thoughts.

you have an ego; you can't have a confidence so this isn't a question. ego and confidence are on two completely different realms.
altering the way i see the question- your ego is always there, it can be positive or negative or wtf/ever. confidence isn't always there(feeling of self-assurance). an ego can be twisted. with time and experience, it will shift. and, anything can shift it. confidence is the same thing every damn time.
stupid fking question it doesn't make sense, reword it for real answers.
ex: is there a difference between confidence and a positive ego?
that's prolly what u were looking for.

Well if you're looking for a definitive answer, I wouldn't go looking on this thread. Lots of differing explanations.

Ego operates out of self interests. Your ego seeks validation, accolades and approval at all costs to be seen as “right”.

Where as to have confidence is to have faith in you own abilities and believe in yourself.

/cheers

you can have an insanely large amount of confidence in your self, while also maintaining a small and appropiate ego.

it's called being down to earth. :)

Ego is who you really are; you're inner self and desires
Confidence is to have faith in yourself and present it

ego you. suck.
confidence me. best.
rush b suka blyat.

Here is a few sentence examples of the difference between confidence and ego.

An example of using confidence, is when you walk up to your abusive parent and kick their ass for the first time.

An example of being egotistical, is when you go around bragging about beating up your abusive parent.
