EU+US Scaling in bg/arenas

Do you think scaling in bgs and arenas was a good move by blizzard?

Did you like when gear actually mattered? It seems the scaling for some specs have been messed up, hunters and warriors doing crazy damage... certain abilities seem to have inflated scaling where some are a bit underpowered. I know from experience fire mage pyroblast hits basically the same as fireball in bgs, where it should be a lot more. This is the case for a lot of classes and specs across the board.

Do you think blizzard will keep this for the next expansion? Or would you like to see gear come back into play. Just a topic that crossed my mind earlier.

Personally, I enjoyed the point of gear playing a huge roll in pvp. The feeling of getting a bit stronger with every piece is satisfying, along with being rewarded for having better gear. I do like that lower levels are brought to the max for the bracket, 20s to 29s etc... I believe they can come up with a better system, rather than making every class have the same exact stats across the board, doesn't feel dynamic or satisfying to pvp. Especially when certain abilities are scaled way better and you are forced to choose them to be competitive.

I actually prefer this it's just alot easier for blizzard to fix overpowered classes by scaling their dmg by a percentage without effecting PVE and WPVP. Also now it's all about how skillful a player is then how geared a player is...They are trying to target the casual players who want to join and still make a difference.

if gear makes a comeback in IPvP I will deffinitly make a comeback. Also speaking for others, I believe they will as well.
I agree, I think a majority of people will come back to the game. It's really all legion lacks. The content is decent, the pvp just feels stale.

It would work if classes and spells were scaled correctly and they actively tried to make sure nothing was overpowered or over scaled. Templates make a majority of the game irrelevant, gear in pvp provided a balance and a grind factor. Acquiring new gear every season was actually a huge part of the game people loved. Now it's basically irrelevant.

Man you have to be realistic there's always gonna be an "overpowered class" they can't perfectly balance everything, you just need to jump on the train when it gets by cause it's always changing....Yes everyone liked gearing it just made you feel like your progressing and felt like it meant something when u were geared. But as I said , I think blizzard is accomadating for those casual players, one of the most watched stream game is LOL which is a game where progression is cosmetic and rating, It attracts more of those casual players thats why its so popular...I could be wrong but I think blizzard are making these changes to accomadate for them.So I can just enter a bg and be at least relavant in the game.

Nothing better than getting smacked around by a grey-geared survival hunter or warrior with starter items in iPVP.

True, but in all honesty. LoL and wow are totally different games, wow is way harder to pick up and play to be relevant because of controls and actual functions in game. Movement and what not. So it will always be harder to start out in wow rather than LoL casual or not. Blizzard will kill wow trying to chase that dream, which is why they developed heroes of the storm, or at least I thought.

at least before scaling people had to put a little bit of effort into gearing if they wanted to truly stomp people, now you can just make a hunter or warrior in 20minutes and you're essentially at your maximum potential

same not returning to retail until this bullshit is fixed
[doublepost=1505987934,1505986505][/doublepost]in vanilla for instance ANY CLASS was competitive with the right gear which is evident on elysium where class diversity really is a thing in most brackets

in retail TWINKING DOES NOT EXIST its just moba low level pvp atually a good call to rename this site xpoff for that reason holy shit you can even TARGET EFC FROM ACROSS THE MAP and see the portrait ---- THAT SHOULD BE REASON ENOUGH TO DITCH THIS SHITTY GAME theres no skill involved in downloading an addon or just /tar efc wait yeah instead we have fucking EoTS which could be the boringest thing ever invented and it pops 24/7 unlike WSG/AB

dont think i know of any pre-mop player that still plays low lvl pvp its all just shitty legion twinks everywhere everyone not retarded have either (1) moved on to end-game (2) started playing private server or (3) quit all together like when i bought gametime 1 month this summer i couldnt recognize a face in bgs

and look at the forums? 19s bracket forum have 1 new irrelevant thread every 4 days with 2 comments posted theres nothing to discuss other than should i roll surv hunt or arms warr?? is there a new invasion event any time soon?? ---- i want my 20 hp extra in bgs!! theres is a love is in the air event which will provide twinks with a USELESS EPIC necklace!! the entire essence of twinking is DEAD

i challenge anyone TO MAKE A CASE FOR RETAIL TWINKING

nice MEME

1. The REAL twinking is done for one reason: crash nubs.
People may call it "competitive" or "putting more effort" by buying consumables from ah and such but in its core it is all same.
crash nubs.
That is why fotm train always so popular. that is why 24s/29s was/still is a thing.

2. F2p always stood at the side of it.
The real f2ps had no choice in where they would play. there were forced in to level 20 and things grew around as time went by.
People from 19s joined in for there own reasons and brought own opinions and actions on how things could/should be.
However after all this years i still think f2ps are not REALLY twinks.
The "community" were build on playing game for free and a simple question of how far could you go with it.

There will be always people for and against this change.
You should of actually made a poll on it but majority here would probably vote to bring old things back because it was more fun for them.

There were no point in playing against level 29 as 20 when you had absolutely 0 chance of wining against any decent 29 due to health, abilities, gear and miss chance.

You would miss 50% of times and that somehow made 29s had more "skill" and be "better" in their eyes.
It is like using elemental force and call its proc a "player made damage".
just because it automatically did 30% to your damage. funky.

People call game shit and for casuals.

You have to ask yourself:
Were there any point in time when this bracket weren't in shit from head to toe?
Is it better for wow in general to be a hardcore grind to dust in order to achieve something type of mmo?

In my opinion - no.
This bracket always been shitshow. my understanding it is the part of reason people loved it.
At least now from a f2p point of view you more or less on same ground with the rest of players.

I do not think leveling by auto attacking boars and bears was good for the game.
Is this rng slut house what i would like to see? no.
But i most certainly wouldn't want to go back to when 1k gold was insanely alot.

I think there's a happy medium but we have to remember that these changes are made to balance end game, we kinda have to put up with imperfect results. That's part of our game.

But i think Blizz should scale all gear to a decided ilvl for every bracket. IE ... Ilvl 35 for 20-29s. But they should do away with stat templates.

IE my gear with str, stam, crit and vers should retain those stats. But if its lvl 20 gear "in world", it would accurately scale up yo what a piece of ilvl 35 with those stats would look like in ipvp.

They ALMOST did this a while back and i enjoyed it.

That way, gear still matters to an extent. But it also provides some scaling for folks who might not have gotten the best gear yet.

Sadly, i don't see this happening. With a focus on e-sports, they have to try to make a complicated game appeal to casual viewers. Having to explain the differences between haste priests and crit priests is a little too layered. We get it, sure. But your casual esports fan who only has a passing knowledge of WoW doesn't. And likely doesn't care.
