I am excited to see how this goes! This is my first time hosting a tournament so you will have to hang with me every step of the way. Hopefully we can make a good time out of this and show all the other brackets what the 20-29 bracket is made of!

DOJaPfz.png

We will be using Challonge to organize and manage the games. We will be following a double elimination format. Teams will be required to play in a Best of Three series with the finals being a Best of Seven series. Link is provided below.

Tournament Rules:
  • If two competing teams are of the same faction, each team will play from both the Alliance and the Horde faction's side once and in the event that the series comes to a 3rd deciding game, the faction side that each team will play on in that game will be determined by coin toss. In the finals, the faction’s side will alternate until the very last game of the series, which will be decided by coin toss. The first game of the series will be decided by the random faction selection generator that is implemented into the wargaming feature.
  • In the situation where a player on a team happens to get disconnected and unable to rejoin the game or “DDOSED”, each team is allowed to request a replay of that game once per series. To be eligible for a replay the gates must not have opened as when the gates are open the game is considered underway and thus is not eligible to be restarted. If your team is in doubt that a final/number of players will be ready to play upon the opening of the gates then your team must initiate leaving the game before the gates open. If using your replay in this instance requires that more than one consecutive “leave and requeue” is necessary to have both teams inside the game with 10 people on each team that is permitted.
  • Upon request or necessity of a game restart/replay, the teams will keep requeueing until the teams factions are the same as what they was in the game that is being restarted/replayed.
  • Any behavior that would be considered strange, mechanically manipulative, or non-objective oriented is not permitted and may result in a penalty.
  • Deadly Boss Mods addon is not allowed.
  • No software violating Blizzard’s ToS is permitted.
  • Anyone can play any character on any account, as long as they are signed up on your roster. When you sign players up to your roster you are signing the player up and not just the character.
WSG Rules:
  • Maximum of two class limit.
  • Maximum of one Survival Hunter.
  • Maximum of one Arms Warrior.
  • Maximum of either one Rouge or Feral Druid.
  • Characters must either be level 20 or level 29, no in-between.
  • Any items obtain from Satchel of Helpful Goods with an item level of 37 or higher is banned.
  • Any enchants (armor or weapons) that still work are banned.
  • Toys or any other items besides Healthstones, Bandages, and Battle Standards are banned.
  • Any items that require a higher level then 29 are banned.
  • All players must enter the match as the specialization they intend to play. If a player needs to respec then teams will be asked to leave and requeue. If it happens continuously then the team that keeps having to leave will be given a loss for the series.

(In game rules may be changed. Keep an eye on the thread.)

The definition of a 'Jump' is as followed:
"Using the jump function (Default keybind: Spacebar) twice or more consecutively and/or in a sequence in an attempt to access a different location on the map to gain a tactical, advantageous position over the enemy team."

and/or

"Using invisible ledges combined with the jump function to access a different location on the map than where the individual was before the use of the first jump."

The jumps shown in the video below are exclusively the ones permitted in the Twink Cup 2017. Any jump that is not in the video is strictly forbidden and will result in a warning or penalty in accordance to its severity.

fkvlCQm.png

There are going to be numerous levels of severity when it comes to punishment when breaking the rules. The punishments will be split into three levels of severity. If a punishment of the same nature occurs three times throughout the course of the tournament, the next level of punishment will be awarded. This is based around the universally known “Three Strikes” rule.

Game Loss:
Minor: If any individual does anything that is considered illegal that does not/did not have any direct impact on the direction, flow or result of the game will be given a warning. A warning is merely a slap on the wrist, however if a team collectively throughout the whole duration of the tournament gets three warnings it will result in a loss of the next available game to the team. Repeatedly offending at the warning level of severity will result in the tournament hosts to decide a sufficient punishment.

Major: If any individual does anything that is considered illegal that has a direct impact on the direction or result of the game will instantly lose that specific game regardless of the actual victor. If a team happens to get three "Major" punishments collectively throughout the course of the tournament it will result in instant removal from the tournament. In the game where the final major offense has been committed, players will be expected to play out the rest of the game as normal.

Disqualification:
If an individual, team or anyone with direct association to a team (i.e someone on the roster, whether they are in the game or not) performs an action that has an extreme effect on a game and it’s outcome will be punished by disqualification from the tournament. Things on this level of severity are things as follows:
  • Using game mechanics in a way that was unintended to be used in such a way, such as gaining a competitive advantage in the battleground i.e. Destroying one's Hearthstone and using the "Stuck" feature to be able to choose where you wish to body resurrect.
  • Use of third party software that is deemed against the Terms of Service that every player agrees to when playing World of Warcraft.
  • DDoS attacks or any form of harassment that can cause a player to not be able to take part in the game commencing.
  • Absolutely anything that breaks Activision Blizzard Entertainment's Terms of Service

20s and 29s mixed, nice. +1
I would prefer people to play 29s, but that is up to the teams they play on. If they want to give themselves that "crutch" then that is on them.

Plus if I am being honest, most of the level 20s are better then the 29s in this bracket from what I have been able to tell. So I am sure they will be just fine! :D

Tbh i'm looking forward to hopefully getting to see a 29s and 20s team of the same caliber spar off, see what the difference is in a competitive environment that way, I don't think it would end the 20s vs 29s debate but it could certainly advance it!

Felforged gear isn't banned? Just curious.
That is something I considered. Since you could actually have gotten it in a legit way then I don't see it should be banned.

I talked to @AlbinoCow earlier and he brought up a lot of valid things I could add and take away as far as some of the rules go. So things could be changing already within the next few days.

stealth limit would just limit guardian and rdruids, where as in this whole last xpack meta they have been excluded from stealth limit anyway. The reason to have one rogue/feral is for the stealth attacks aswell as mid control. stealth attacks need to be taken with a grain of salt, ive always been against a stealth rule, as in having one just rewrads teams unable to compensate and foresee an imcoming stealth attack. Sometimes the dmg from them are unavoidably fatal, but that happens no matter the limit on any playstyle. Your most likely asking the stealth change just so the recently buffed ferals dont overtake rogue, but any good team will see the usefulless in rogue. having both would be having a rogue (the best control and pressure class in this bracket, while being stealth as a bonus to that) as well as feral (the highest mid pressure, with a medium-high amount of burst, able to stealth aswell).

The stealth rule here would seemingly be limiting boomkins from entering the frey? u wouldnt want to limit rdruids, rogue, boomy /feral from being a team comp would u? as mentioned earlier. the current rules are placed in mind of all previous rules and the current bracket involved.

Burg and i talked of allowing certain classes to play 3 each instead of 2. This is directly aimed at healing classes. The past limit on this was aimed mostly at all 3 priests having fear and the meta revolving around spriest dmg, ei: u could run 2 spriests but u lose a dpriest etc in that. in this case disc and holy are competing if not one a little over the other for top healer, while spriest just applies decent pressure with little burst, the main lifeline of this meta. Would allowing teams to run holy, disc and shadow really hurt any games? If u ask me it would spur momentum among teams. Pally or Shaman, both hold classes many ppl deem unnecessary in this meta, i believe they hold a spot in certain play styles and teams, again no reason to limit future teams un-accordingly

Druids in particular are an interesting topic for this bracket pvp, they have dash a very good, low-ish cd ability that allows them to move quickly for an extended period of time. something no other class has and is the aim of many game making plays through out the games played. Having 3 druids can sound excessive and indeed it may be, boomkin being a great dps and controllable burst, feral being top dps/mid pressure, able to force any fc into a tought spot, rdruid being one of the current top fc's.

In your words, please explain why a stealth limit over a rogue/feral limit would be better?
