EU+US going from p2p to f2p.

Hey guys, I've found myself not really enjoying the game as much as I used to, so I'm kinda done, although I still want to play, just not seriously. I'm going to let my sub run out and play a level 20 after that, seeing as I'll have school and other irl stuff, I find this is probably best.

My question for all the veteran f2p players is, what should I get before my account goes inactive. Also what class is best at level 20? I planned on making a hunter, mainly playing marksmanship (survival as backup obviously cause its broken lol). But if a different class is better than hunter at 20, let me know! I want to make a pretty well geared twink before my account goes down so I still have something to play :p.

Thanks!

Hey there Hotpocketx,

Hunters are one of the best if not the best DPS class atm, however there are way too many of them and that's why wouldn't recommend them unless you like the playstyle. Playing a class because it can output the most damage takes the fun away after a while, I would mainly recommend looking at the playstyle you prefer.

Other than that there are a few topics for you that might be interesting:

Yeah I can see why doing too much damage can get boring after a while, that's why I'm leaning more towards marks, I've always loved the play style of it. And thanks for the thread links!!

on a more serious note
You really don't have to settle for hunter
If you like doing damage, you can do a warrior, which i believe you already have

Classes @ 20 that can still contribute huge to games: Disc Priest, Arms War, Druid
With druid being so versatile in its wide variety of specs: Feral is doing really good right now, you can off spec to resto flag carry which is always a good relief to have an FC in a game and boomy is pretty fun and does bring damage than most specs

if you were serious about 20s tho, i'd level your 19 lock, lets face it 19s went to shit now anyways
that toon is already bis and locks are pretty nice in the bracket too

the most important thing to get before your sub runs out is the rock rings and problem solving penant, and some good enchants for a wpvp/duel set, if your going with a caster get the black magic enchant
BUT MOST IMPROTANT OF ALL; DO NOT FORGET TO UNLOCK YOUR EXP BEFORE YOUR SUB RUNS OUT OTHERWISE YOU CANNOT QUE

Cant go wrong with hunter. bm is very productive in asist. even if bgs are shit you can spend time taming rare pets.

As for things to get: favorite battle pets/mounts/toys/tmogs bellow level 50 - vanilla quests + gliders / speed pots if that is what you would enjoy.
you wont be able to use enchanting scrolls on veteran account so make sure you enchant all the gear you would need before time runs out.

Some example on enchants https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/auchindoun/gunpwnder
Try get +9 stamina on hands and overall staking stamina or vers with crit seem most productive.

cant use guild bank so make sure for maxed out bag/bank space.

Make sure your experience not locked when your time runs out. in some cases it leads to problems with queuing up for bgs.

Buy/make this http://www.wowhead.com/item=134125/mecha-bond-imprint-matrix

get engineering to 225 for shrink ray and parachute cloak.
Note that there has been issues with professions before where doing darkmoon profession related quests would result in dropping your skill from 225 skill to 100. Seem to be resolved but do keep that in mind.

As for gears: legion pre exp +i15 is best. cant get it anymore. best bet bg blue gears with vers/crit. heirlooms+dungen blues wont hurt aswell.

Most usefull pets atm: Spider / Carrion Birds / Chimera / Core Hound
embrace your new bible.

Enjoy the world without a wheel as a free hamster.

There are many fun specs to play.

Arms, enh shammy, destro lock, arcane/frost mage, retri pallies can all do a lot of dmg if played well, the only thing that blocks its gameplay are enemy surv hunters. If you are not doing wpvp, swift pot recype and a parachutes are the only thing I would bother getting before subs run out (and any fancy stuff you would like to have and show off in bgs)

For DPS Hunters, Warriors, Druid, Arcane Mage. Best healers are disc priest and rsham

I felt the same way in WoD about end game and decided to go Vet. Been having some good fun ever since. :)
Ok, Hunters are great fun and would be a good choice as a main. My suggestion is make ur self 1 or 2 other toons just for a break from the Hunter. After spending long periods on a low level toon I find myself wanting a change, so spending a day as a healer or a tank breaks up the routine, then I go back to the Hunter refreshed. Just a suggestion.
While sub'd, a lot of what u have to do has already been mentioned above or linked. Just a quick list of my thoughts :-
No need to worry about healing pots, u can replenish those by running Stockades if ur Ally
Bandages - Runecloth scales best
Swiftpots, but if u go Alch u'll be able to make them anyhow
Gliders! A must for explorers! Oh, and the odd jump to BS from LM :p
Make sure u unlock all bank tabs and put big bags there, and unlock void storage. It's amazing how full ur bank gets while unsub'd.
I also stock a few sharpening stones for when I wanna crack skulls as Surv in wPvP or Dungeons.
Enchant all items and weapons before sub lapses.
Grab as many transmog items as u can. Funnily enough, this is what takes most of my bank space. I get leather and cloth items on my Hunter and store them for when I sub up from time to time.
If u want +6 Stam food then make it before sub expires otherwise u can only make +4. The Darkmoon food u can make at anytime.
For the serious explorer, make sure u have a mount that can walk on water and also one that moves underwater.
And if u want an illusion on ur Surv weapon that costs more than 10g make sure u do it before u go Vet.
And as already mentioned, make sure u unlock XP just before sub lapses!
Then have fun!;)
