EU+US When do you expect Twink items to becomes worthless?

Complicacy

Grandfathered
As each patch passes I am surprised that the BoE flippers are holding to their prices, IMO I would be trying to get rid of a lot of this stuffs stock due to it essentially being worthless once the next expansion releases.

For example, I can't see anyone imaging it worthwhile to buy 1 of 2 Relics for 1-2M that will only last them half a year(No idea when next expansion actually is, could be less). Why? No one will need power leveling since I'd assume they bump instant buy level to 110, Farming on it will be counteracted by using the new highest level in the game which will probably reproduce similar speeds.

The only reason I could see someone purchasing any piece of gear above 400-500k would be because they want a trophy twink/show off. What are your thoughts on buying BoE's late into the expansion?

*The prices can be seen as more unreasonable than from the start of the expansion do to the price drop of Legion materials which cause less total gold income & the major dip in BoE sales since 7.2 which saw the Twinks move out of BoE flipping and the goblins taking over(likely charging more to make up for lack of sales, literally saw a BoE flipper control about 3-4 realms when checking for 910 relics).*

Yeah, that's why I never really wanted to invest any time in 101. It seemed nice, but only if you started quite early on in Legion. All the AP farm and millions spent on items will become worthless within the year.

Yup the AP farming really isn't bad, and you can pick up cheap sets of gear (but who really wants low iLvl twinks you want to be as beast as possible) and once you get into the high iLvl or rarity zone your looking at paying the price of the next expansion on a single piece of gear that will be outdated when it hits (likely not generating it's own value back).

I've spent roughly 3-5M in gear/token boosts/realm transfers for my twinks, and I'm sitting on 300k now struggling to make half of what I did in a day at the start of expansion & thinking about it I would have much rather used that gold on Hearthstone Packs/New Games or to reinvest in the AH.

It's hard to say when the prices will drop completely but certainly when the new XPac is out (if there is another after Legion) and Toons are LvL 120 and can farm Broken Shore/Argus in shit greens solo then the AH's will become overloaded with Legion BoE's. Prior to that, as fewer 101's need items to gear their own Toons the "demand" will drop considerably. Nobody in their right mind is gearing a LEVELING Character in Legion Epics since you can now get access to super cheap welfare epics at 110 over iLvL 900 with Argus.

twink items will always work, but demand will come close to 0 when next expansion releases.

I feel that the next expansion will not go that hard on twinking boes. there's so many boe and twinks are so powerful this expansion. anyone feel the same ?

I think they will keep the scaling system, but I don't think they will keep the BOE 111 EPIC gear that has Raid tier stats...

880 socket + leech gear? Never, infact prices for these pieces might rise next xpack as no one will be farming or getting them to drop and people will still want to finish their twinks. I know people will want to finish cuz a lot are already too deep

We might be due another item squish soon so if that happens, the BoEs could lose (nearly) all their value like the 409s did in the 80 bracket when the WoD squish hit.

We shoulda seen one this patch, technically. But from what I heard, only thing that kinda got nerfed was avoidance. I honestly think blizzard loves how twinks keep the prices of BOE epics going. Also there is a huge player base that plays 101 twinks.

Just look at 19s in vanilla and BC. I think it took until wotlk to actually see any nerf in some kind of way. Appears to be example of how if a bracket is popular, blizzard doesn't mess with it

As far as the 80s getting stat squished, this was simply because 80 twink were killing 85s which was max level of the current xpack. Obviously that's an issue. But we rarely hear cases of 101s being powerful enough to kill even a moderately geared 110. Fully geared 110, no way in hell. Since this is the case, and we are really only a threat to ourselves, in which case I honestly don't think we will see a nerf

Half the fun, at least for me, is gearing up the twink. I've had more fun this xpac on my handful of 101 alts than any of my 110s. Gold well spent. My 110s constantly grind out gear that I have to replace a few weeks later. My 101s only grow in power, never feeling inferior.

The only twink I haven't had much fun gearing is my 109 paladin, but all I do is play BGs on him. Never ending timewalking dungeons make me want to cry.

2 rogues, 1 boomkin, guardian Druid, and Resto Druid, spam queuing timewalking and stealthing right to most bosses no trash. Boy that would be a hoot

do you think after legion the 101 boe will drop in value ?

Increase if they are still deemed Bis. There would be much less on the market after everyone goes onto doing new content. Which means more rare.

yes less supply, but certainly less demand too no ? look at mop blue twink item they are worth nothing and the supply and demand is also very low

The demand would drop quite a bit. 111 twinks would be all the rage.
