Just get a warlock summons off the island to lock XP then hearth back, use a trial boosted lock. I have a level 1 goblin hunter.

ummm, once you lock XP on a goblin you just hearth back and do all the quests to complete the starting zone. Then you arrive in Org.

it depends on situation. there is no "best class" like there is no worst. 90% of your dmg comes from the elementalforce and satyr proccs. rogs and monks are nearly the same (i recommend rogue against higher levels because of the attack-speed. fast attack-speed = higher chance to hit your target.) warrior does good dmg at lvl 1 but only has 1x elementalforce^^ i fought against a lvl 1 rogue multiple times (as lvl 1 warrior) and it was close every time. (instant win if crusader procc btw.. doing up to 700+ crits with 2x crusader.) hunters are not bad too 
the dmg is not OP as long youre not getting an [Gnomish X-Ray Scope] procc etc. Casters are nearly the same (because dmg depends on proccs) too. but i prefer mage because of the slow. (hard to hit high lvls as caster btw.) every class is playable and every class can be good.

And how do you get to Lost Isle in order to obtain the quest for rares/greens? Tried once and wasn't able to go there, even after spoken to a GM.

I did it in patch 7.1.5. Get ported to somewhere, I chose Deepholme. Take the portal to Orgrimmar, get 10 gold and lock your xp, then HS back to the Lost Isles.
If you log out or crash before going back to the Lost Isles your HS will be set to Bladefist Bay or something along those lines.

I think you misunderstood me. I've created some level 1 goblins myself with locked XP, but the real benefit of goblins is to get the green/blue gear dropped on the second island? And my question is how to get the the second island. Seen some screenshots of level 1 goblins using green boots, wrist and waist.

I don't understand your problem because I have never faced one.
I simply got BiS heirlooms and enchants and did the whole questline from the first island to the last as it is at level 1 without any problems other than not being able to hit mobs, but my Mark of the Hidden Satyr procs covered for that.

Hm, when I tried this about a year ago the quest line finished before I was able to take the quest to get to the second island.
