EU+US Server time issue.

I'm on the 'Frostmourne US' (Oceanic) Server.

Is there something wrong with the in-game server time clock?

I went to the gurubashi arena at 3pm/6pm server time... nothing was there.

I went to do the stranglethorn fishing extravaganza at sunday 2pm server time... nothing was there.

I am going off the server's time and not my own.

Wtf is wrong?

Lol - welcome to Oceanic servers :p

It did my head in but I've worked it out now. I'm in WA so on AWST. So if ur over east it's +3hrs.

Gurubashi for me spawns at 7 - 10 - 1 etc. It for some reason has gone out of alignment with the server time, but try those times.

And fishing is am Monday morning. For me at starts at 6am Mon morning so for over east it would be 9am.

Don't know why Oceanic is all over the place but that's how it's working atm.;)

What time would the 'Gurubashi Arena Chest' and 'Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza' be for me? from your post I figured it would be like this.

Australian EST:
- 'Gurubashi Arena Chest' = 3 hours time difference between you (WST) and me (EST) means the exact same spawn times '7, 10, 1, 4'(am/pm).
- 'Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza' = Monday 9am.

If my interpretation is wrong, let me know.

It's a shame that the in-game event calendar on oceanic servers doesn't notify the players on this.

Anyway I will check the 'Gurubashi Arena Chest' at 7pm EST and see if that will work, I will keep you updated.

Yes, u are considered east from me and because atm with daylight saving it is 3hrs diff so Gurubashi is exact same times, only for instance my 4pm is ur 7pm and so on.

The fishing for u should start at 9am tomorrow (Monday). So u r correct in ur interpretation.

Took me a while to work it all out as nothing in game matches. But good luck. ;)
 
these times are global now. oceanic servers also use US times, server time has not much meaning anymore. 2pm sunday in US is 9am monday in aus. thats why we are able to phase to US realms now so i wont complain
 
just click on the clock and then uncheck "Use Local Time", so you will know the server time and will be at the gurubashi arena at the right time.
Also checking the calendar to make sure wich day you have to go for fishing contest

server time is aus time, not US time. but US time is what it follows
 
I'm here for the second time at Australia Sydney time 9am Monday, and nothing is happening.

The first time I was here at the exact same time and the fishing tourny started, exactly a week later, at the exact same time, it hasn't started.

Is something wrong?

Fishing contest didn't work today...may have been due to time change in US which took affect in middle of night. I noticed there's a post on wow bug forum about it.
 
Yeah, seems Blizz, a multi-billion dollar company was unable to deal with a 1 hour change in the US last night :eek:

I'm assuming next week it'll be 1 hour earlier then?

Edit : Gurubashi seems to have changed - I just need to work out whether it's gone back to normal or out by an hour. Will report back once I have confirmation.

Seeing now as WoW has altered the time due to daylight savings, what would the time be now for the fishing contest?

Seems Gurubashi has gone back one hour, so I'd say the fishing tourney will also go back one hour.
So for me it'll start 5am (AWST) and for you it should start 8am (AEST). We'll know for sure tomorrow!

Last 2 weeks it's been bugged and hasn't started at all. Since the US changed their daylight saving it's bugged the tourney. I'm in 2 minds whether I should try this week as it's probably still bugged. Unless someone has seen a blue post or something saying it's sorted.
My gut feel though if it's working is that it'll be 8am AEST.

Sorry for the slight necro, but is something funky going on with the STV fishing tourney?
I know it starts at 2pm PST, which equates to 5am AWST. I got on at 6am AWST today and got no quest and couldn't see the fishing npc's. Did anyone do the fishing tourney this week or last week? I would struggle to think that 50 people completed it on my low pop server in the first hour. But even if they did, would the npc still be there?
It's supposed to be back up.:confused:
