Have to keep the law breakers somewhere.
I have no idea what he did and it is none of my business. But apparently he broke a law(s) that required him to go to prison for a length of time.

As far as I am concerned he paid his debt since he is already out.

I ingested a drug, I failed a drug test for meth and got sentenced to 30% of 5 years behind bars and 75% on parole.

Moral of the story, If you're gonna use drugs don't use them in the state of South Dakota.

They are one of the only states in the United States that carries prison sentences for merely ingesting a drug.

Dang, that's a scary thought. I nearly took a puff when peer pressure came a knockin', but I was disciplined enough to say no to drugs. The temptation was there, though.

Two goons rolled up to my house with a light bulb and some other drug paraphernalia hidden in sort of a grade school backpack. One was my old high school buddy who I would occasionally smoke softer drugs with for fun, the other bloke was I'm sure one of his druggy compadres, but I paid no mind. They got inside and immediately said, "We got the supremes." I had thought that was code for cocaine. Because, back then, I was into the occasional cocaine for fun. Anyway, dude busts out a light bulb and this crystal stuff. I didn't know what it was exactly, but my gut told me it was definitely not good and most certainly not coce, but probably meth. I let them smoke in my room, but I told them, "Hey, I didn't ask for this. After ya'll have finished "chasing the dragon", please leave. My dad will kill me if he finds out there was any sort of hard drugs in this house.". Easily the most nervous I've ever been. Anyway, sorry for ranting. That's my meth story.

Anyway, I guess the moral of the story is, don't let your friends push you over when it comes to doing something you don't want to do. No matter how badly they pressure you into doing something. If my dad would have came home and saw what was going on, my ass would have been bleeding like the Hoover Dam. And yes, my dad would literally beat me bare ass with a belt. Dude's a straight savage. No fuucks. It could have been worse, though. I could have been caught with meth actually in my system, and sent to the big house. Careful people. Listen to your gut.

Imo, people shouldn't take drugs. But it's fucking rediculous to waste tax money on imprisoning drug users. Weather or not the person does anything bad whilst on a drug should be the determining factor. It's basically the same as alcohol. If it doesn't harm anyone else around you, the law shouldn't get involved.

The problem is the support system getting the drug users the illegal drugs. And how many of the users that steal or do other illegal things to get the drugs they use. It is not just the drug use itself. One has to think of the entire drug system.

Just as one has to look as prostitution as not being illegal. But some of those women are literal sex slaves.
A huge sex slave ring was broke up on the East side of Houston in 2016. Another in Minnesota in 2015. It happens more often than you think with our sanctuary city policies.
