EU+US I think I play this game out of spite now

Grandfathered
The past couple of weeks playing this game has been a struggle. Here are all my feelings in one video.

fuck this bracket and fuck this game.

Game is just on its last legs honestly. There's nothing enticing about WoW anymore. Anything that comes to fruition st this point is merely an attempt to keep addicted players who don't know better.

Legion is shit at end game for PvP, and twinking is pretty much non existent relative to before. People just keep playing for their quick fix. If they'd quit for a month or two, I guarantee you it'd be hard for them to find the motivation and desire to return.

It's just really, really hard to replace World of Warcraft.

I looked all over for a new game: Hearthstone, then Heros of the Storm, played around in the character in Tera, and beat Guild Wars 2. I even tried single player games, like Witcher 3, which was cool, but it got old.

Then I just stopped playing games altogether, despite having just build a new gaming rig. I spent my days deep in thought, wondering what I was going to do with all my newfound free-time. After much contemplation, the realization I came to was that what I was missing in my life: I needed was an imbalanced grindfest that takes place in a colorful, badly-textured universe.

The problem with other games, is that compared to WoW, they all lack a certain...je ne sais quoi.

But, I feel you. It feels like Blizzard is asleep at the wheel.

Fyi, sub numbers are climbing, so they must have done something right. Also from my I do really enjoy 110, everything feels alive. And what is wrong with endgame pvp?

Blizzard doesnt announce their subscription numbers that statement holds no value. But i couldn't agree more i'm just here because of the friendships i've made playing this game and to me that's one of the hardest things to replace when starting another MMO

Yeah, i find myself missing WoW, but knowing that this expansion just isn't fun for me. Maybe someday the game will be fun again for me :(

WoW is like Jumanji, you don't ever quit. You still hear the beating sounds of the drums when you attempt to walk away.

Or you could get outdoors and you know, actually participate in life instead of living it vicariously through a screen.

It starts with turning off the PC and TV and not looking at your phone every 13 seconds.

As for WoW, Blizzard seems to be actively working away from having WoW be their primary income engine. Recent client strings suggest that in-game services, like paid boosts, will be purchasable with WoW Tokens, obtainable through the gold market.

I wont be boosting. If the game remains as it seems from PTR, I'll stay unsubbed like many of the commenters I've seen lately. Blizzard doesn't seem to want to see people have fun with WoW anymore, nerfing the classes and legendaries, making people grind incessantly for artifact power or the hope and prayer that the daily caches/dungeons will contain a legendary that's not already garbage, etc.

There's a reason a majority of the senior personnel at Blizzard retired. There's a reason the game is taking the trajectory it is. Acti-Blizz is a for-profit company, not a for-players company. Despite what the curly-haired yuppie, the trained lawyer, or any of the other CMs say on their forums or tweets, they don't care about your opinion. They have a vision for the game that's not in line with what the player base has been asking for, or asking to at least maintain, and that vision is one where people heavily invest their own money through microtransactions (lol $60 micro) to enjoy the game. It's no different than mobile games like Clash Royale or PokemonGO - it's just the player base here has much higher standards.

Can't wait for the Q2 earnings calls to reflect on their incompetence.

I didn't expect anyone to reply to this thread, but ya it seems the sentiment is shared at least among some people. I really tried but as time goes on I get that its not me that doesn't want to play its the game that is turning me away. I always liked the self expression in this game, naming a toon, building reputation among the people that you play with and just listening to music while I game, but man even these things are wearing real thin lately. End game pve seems to take up all the development time.
