EU Thoughts on Mage (post 7.1)

Hey guys,

So, we mages received quite some changes after the last patch launched. What are your thoughts on this class right now? What spec do you consider the best and what is the most viable spec, to you, right now?

I've been playing around with all of them and I'm really sad that frost became somewhat unviable

EDIT: Oh yeah, and is Hot Streak bugged for some reason? I don't seem to get any stacks at all, even though I'm dealing crits most of the time.

Flame strike is learned at 20, though, I do indeed like the fact we received scorch

I feel arcane is the most viable as of right now.

Mage is OP like always. Having multiple CCs in a bracket where people don't have dispels or interrupts is just going to be good no matter what.

Losing Ice Barrier has been a pretty big deal however. You need a damn good healer in addition to good management of aforementioned CCs to not just fall over when someone looks at you angrily; which, Imo, is a good thing.

Arcane is the best spec. Already was the best spec before the patch Imo, but now it's certain.

Yeah... I'm having a hard time when it comes to carrying the game by bringing flags back and forth. Before I was able to pull it off, including ice barrier, now it just feels I'm getting destroyed in just a few seconds.

It's the cast on the run spell that deals less damage than a lvl 1 auto attack

yea scorch hits for 50 in bgs, really bad.

Also hot streak is bugged.

Frost without pet freeze sucks dick, was the only reason to play frost. Now only arcane is viable for sure.

Ray of Frost is still retarded tbh so you could play Frost for the fun of it, but Arcane is simply better.

Arcane is like surv hunter, no brain. And if someone play ally - there's one rule, always choose gay nelf race, to avoid frost ray or anything else.

Ppl on EU now like stack disks, rshammy, survs, arcane and destro - ye, quality games.
