Haven't done any planning yet m8, you're quite possibly correct on that. I just wanted to have some gear ready from the get-go so I could jump right in and test how DH is in instanced pvp. :)

btw just managed to complete my 99 DH :D I got xp off of 1 rare because i got sloppy

Lekos' Leash is seriously OP on 99's and I would consider it a must have. Nothing else is worth wasting XP to get.

My bad, I didn't think about it that way either. Yeah for iLvL nothing matter in the DH starting area.

Not at all... i just made a second DH because i didnt pick up the trinket on the first.

Made tons of mistakes this time, tried tagging a different rare and dying to avoid the XP, somehow still got the XP, and couldnt even get to the corpse fast enough to loot the item. Somehow still made it thru at 99 grabbing the leash.

Also, not being able to delete a toon with mail is the stupidest thing blizz ever did. Stupid freeking captains hat to every new character that's now completely worthless in any regard.

While I agree it's stupid, if I make enough mistakes that I know I'm going to ding 100 (my first 4 attempts lol) I just complete it to the Main City. I then vendor everything in my bags/on Character and the Hat from the mail then send the ~1100g to my Main, then delete the Toon. At least that way it was worth the ~2 hours of time trying to get a 99 out.
 
DeLindsay, have you done any instanced pvp on your DH?
How was it?
edit: also how does the tank spec fare? I'm missing some sort of heal as Havoc...

I tried the other day and right as the Battle was about to begin I got DC'd. I'm honestly still working on mains to 110, new Prof items and the like to get to much into PvP right now. As for PvE, Vengeance is stupidly OP, I can solo 110 Elites without much issue (2 is doable but a pain, 3+ is still too difficult at 737 iLvL). I regularly push ~52K DPS ST on Dungeon Bosses as Tank, and 45K+ as Havoc (no Artifact weapons) but I agree havoc seem very squishy at 99.

DHs have so few abilities and no talents at 99 that im now considering lock :3
But I'll farm the epic head for my DH from the start location first ^^ i know it by heart now lol...
 
The mobility is the draw for havoc spec, i think. Trade-off being squish.

I just made one of each, i'm not obsessed with BiS. Plus the tank artifact looks cooler.

For the epic head, you just mean an upgrade?

edit- speaking of, i saw someone last night that had Lekos Leash drop epic. Just bumped up the passive crit tho, the proc remained the same.

Lekos' Leash base is 680 iLvL with 253 Crit / 2024 Agi proc. Mine proc'd Epic for 690 iLvL with 277 Crit / 2220 Agi proc. Even as base it's superior to the 715 iLvL Stone of the Elements with 351 Versa / 1870 Main Stat.
 
That's awesome! The one i saw was on the armory, not surprised the proc was incorrect.

That's so deep in there to farm tho, glad i'm only worried about PvP...
 
Ive got my 99 nelf DH out of the area and I'm on the last quest, if I complete it I will level, how do I go about bypassing this quest so I can lock my xp?

Since there is only 1 item in there of any value to a 99 (Lekos' Leash, and only for PvE) there's NO REASON to kill a single Rare otherwise. When I got my 5th attempt 99 DH out (the one I have now) she had like 42K XP left, and that was with killing that Rare for the Trinket. I got lucky with the final Quest Helm upgrading to 700. I can't see why Alliance would have any issue, the SW Quest shouldn't be THAT much XP.

EDIT: When I get the time I will try an Alliance DH to see what results I can come up with.

I followed what you said on the last page, ONLY killed Lekos, when I got to SW I had like 600xp till 100 and the quest was phased so I couldn't access the xp stopper, Might have some luck bargining with a GM.
 
On my 5th attempt I got lucky on the final Boss fight and there were 2 other DH's there also, I think that reduced my XP gain and was certainly easier since I didn't have to worry about the adds so used 100% ST only abilities.

i havent seen anyone confirm that it can be done. but i dont think anyone can confirm that it cant be done either. it might be possible if you tag each quest mob and die but i cant confirm it will be low enough xp

would you need to have a partner to kill all the mobs for you once you cliff jump or what? Im really interested in getting an ally DH twink.
 
If money isn't a concern to you, you can xpoff and faction change right after getting ported to orgrimmar (before you pick up the quest from khadgar).

After the faction change, fly to the bottom of the SW keep and talk to khadgar there to start the intro quest chain.

I didn't do it quite that way... I turned off xp, did some of the intro quest, then did the faction change... and ended up with two seals of house wrynn. So depending on when you do the faction change, you might be able to duplicate some of the item rewards if you want.
