Not since Shadowlands. I believe that every profession can be leveled to max on F2P. Only Cata might be more difficult due to zones being higher level (30+ or 35+).

F2P can level alch to 300. Flask is easily accessible with a few hours of vanilla zone herb grinding. I doubt Inscription is better than Alchemy with flask.

That's a nice find. They might have changed it. At the time this guide was made, it was either super rare (not even listed on wowhead) or just impossible. Might speed up the grind if any kind of gems can be obtained from Leystone ore prospecting now.

I noticed that too. The event start date probably synced with the weekly reset, that's all. 99% sure that the quest is weekly, not daily.
