EU+US Mt Hyjal - how to get there? Other hard to reach places...

If you look online there are very easy methods/shortcuts to win the Darkmoon faire
Big powermonger race under 20 ticks. (That awards the cannon)

It's easier as Alliance, cause you can get a swim speed buff from a quest in Azuremyst Isle. As Horde, you might need a turtle, Waterstrider or several swim speed pots to make it across in time.

Or be a Druid.
Thinking of making my way to Vashj'ir for some exploration. I understand there is a flight path you can reach, but when you go under the water into Vahj'ir itself, do we get the water breathing buff? Has any F2P or Vet tested this?

And also, it seems though I picked up the Seahorse mount on several higher level toons, it's not showing on my Vet's. Does that mean no Seahorse? I thought mounts were account wide

Anyone with Vashj'ir experience would love to hear what you know.

i explored vashjir alone on my f2p druid, some advices:
- do it on a druid, you dont get the water breathing (because it's a quest reward i think)
- if you have a sea turtle, much better, because it gives something like 300% speed in vashir
- i got to vashjir by swimming from Stormwind coast all the way up to Dun Morogh's and than straight to vashjir (use the world map to see the shortest line), you may die to fatigue but if you're close enough you should be teleported to a gy in vashjir (shouldnt be hard at all with druid)
- the flying path you get is the Sandy Beach one, that one is connected to the normal fp of Stormwind/Undercity AND to the special underwater flying paths of vashjir that you can discover in the zone

Thanks for your help. Problem I have is I want to do all the exploration on my Hunter, so I need to work out how to get around that. Maybe in short bursts by grabbing the breathing buff from the fishing daily in SW when it's the lobster one. I didn't make any breathing pots before going Vet and now my profs are bugged.
2nd problem is me no have turtle :(
Gonna be a long expedition I feel
Thanks again for advice!
Still, were there is a will there is a way;)

You can explore (most) of the area by staying on the waters surface, and just swimming around. It'll be slow going, but it'll eventually happen.

Oh wow, I'll give it a crack! Cheers.

There's a quest on Bloodmyst Isle that will repeatedly give you a 20 minute swim speed buff, as long as you don't complete it. The bloodridden Naga? Or something like that.

Hello from Vashj'ir ;)

Thanks to Taco and Gugli for ur help. Cool fun getting there, only just make it before Fatigue almost gets u, and u can get that quest chain even on Starter when u can't get mail. So even had the breathing and swimming buff for a while.

Finding fun places to explore is a great way to pass the time in the horrid queues!

Cheers guys.:)

Ok, next mission : Deepholm.
Anyone been there? Is it possible to obtain a mage port to Deepholm? Or is it only a lock summons that can get you there?
I'm guessing there's no other way there?:(

You need to walljump alot of places, I managed to walljump all the way up hyjal peak a while ago. I will try it again soon.

I was able to go to Vashjir solo as a f2p. Win the cannon from the games in DMF to get you a head start and then use the goblin glider (in my case as a hunter I used disengage with reduced cooldown talent) and get your hands on swimming potions or ask someone to buff you to walk on water (this one I did not have). Search for the point on the map in wetlands' northwestern point where the gap is the smallest and start there. You will die few times in the process but it is doable.

Has anyone ever made it to a flight path in Mt Hyjal unassisted as a Vet or F2P?
I'm making some progress and getting closer each time but when you die it stupidly sends you to Ashenvale.

I usually come in from Winterspring and with a few Darkmoon Cannon blasts can get over some of the mobs but I get stuck around where I have marked X on the above. Trying to get past this point is proving harder than reading one of Gucci's threads.:p
If anyone has any tips on how they got to a flight path that would be great. Otherwise I may have to cave in and ask for a 2-seater buddy to help me out  But I don't want to cave in just yet..........

For anyone that's interested. I thought I may have beaten Blizz in my attempt to reach a Mt Hyjal flight path. I did the mind numbing ghost run from Ashenvale back to Mt Hyjal and noticed in Mt Hyjal you can fly as a ghost.
So this time I made my way to one of the flight paths in Mt Hyjal, found the nearest spirit healer and I'm like yes, rubbing my hands together in excitement and anticipation as I'm about to take my rez sickness yet rez right next to the flight path............

WTF, back in Ashenvale.
Mt Hyjal must be the most annoying place to get to as Vet / F2P. I get the impression Blizz don't want unsub'd people in there, which makes me want to get there even more

Chilling with the Irontree......

This is about as far as I can get without dying, but slowly making progress towards one of the flight paths :)

I'm pretty sure, that you can't do this alone...

Greetings.

Its Doable as a Holy Pala, took me 2 swim potions and lots of heals and patience

I started at Dun Morogh, nearest part to Vash'jr,(got there by swimming) start swimming, once i get fatigue. I pop swimpotions , heals while fatigue drain your HP

I got a video how to, any way to put it up here??
Or do screenshots??

Also i did thia back in 2013

Ok, @icehawk

I followed ur steps and finally reached Mt Hyjal for the first time alone, thanks for that

I did die once in Hyjal and was in Ashenvale as ghost, that really sucks, so i ran back to Felwood, then Winterspring, then to Hyjal
I ran for 7 min from Ashenvale Gy to Felwood as ghost, go through the cave and get into Winterspring
then from there i ran 9 min till Hyjal

i've arrived at Gates Of Stohann, to my dissapointment, there no FP there :(, its only available after we done area quest i think

Our next mission will be the next FP, which is Sanctuary of Malorne?

out of curiosity has any level 20 ever encountered the rare spawn poseidus in vashjir?
No, but I haven't really looked for him. I did try and look for Ghostcrawler but he wasn't up when I was in Vashj'ir.

Ah yes, the flight path is unfortunately not up at Gates of Sothann for F2P / Vets. You need to have done the quest chain like you mention. I had given up on Mt Hyjal for a while, I went to pick up as many flight paths as possible in Draenor, but I will attack Mt Hyjal again. ;)

I found the best chance at getting to Sanctuary of Malorne (which would be the easiest flight path to get to imo - although it ain't easy) would be via the path marked below.

I'm thinking it's best to stick to the edges and try and get as high up as you can away from the mobs. This can only be done with the Darkmoon Cannon and Goblin Glider Kit (which helps get extra distance on the blasts). Even with those items I still see it inevitable to have a few deaths so you would need to make some ghost runs from Ashenvale. There's a small outpost with Irontree Warden's which you can get too after a few blasts of the cannon. It offers some safety from the surrounding mobs. But between the outpost and the Sanctuary of Malorne there are a lot of mobs. That's why I think if there was a way to stick to the cliffs / rocks / mountains off to the sides it would be the best chance at survival. I'm going to give it another crack and see how it goes. Once we get the first flight path we'll be laughing. Then we can at least catch a flight path from Ashenvale to Mt Hyjal while we wait for the 10 min rez sickness to go :( for future exploits in Mt Hyjal.
