Anyone good with writing?

Just lost my scholarship and my university is telling me to send an appeal letter and I want to get it right. Would be willing to pay anyone that would read my rough draft and help me out, thanks.

You lost it and now you want to cheat to get it back. I suggest you write it yourself if you truly desire it. It could be a "test" by the way. It is not unheard of for state accredited schools to do this.

Going to a teacher to ask them to proofread an essay before turning it into another teacher is not "cheating". It's summer break and my resources are limited and am asking for someone here to be kind enough to assist me in writing it. This is extremely important and would appreciate assistance, not for someone to write my essay.

I can read it over for you. We proofread eachothers' writing at work all the time.

I'm not here to defend myself, that's what my paper's for.

"Plagiarism"

You either have a loose grasp on what plagiarism is, or haven't read my posts. Having someone proofread a paper and offer suggestions is far from cheating and is completely encouraged.

Thanks for the support anyway, guys and sorry to be rude but I'm going through a lot right now and am probably reaching out to the wrong crowd. I appreciate the offer and would love to take you up on it, @Laurasia!

Say you are sorry, the actual words, people want to hear it.
Give a reason why you did what you did to lose it. Be it I wasn't thinking, whatever, people want to know.
Tell them what going to college would mean to you. They don't want to waste their money, they want you to be serious about it.
Be sincere and honest.
Thank them for their consideration.

That's how you should write it IMO. Good luck!

Can send me a PM if you'd like. I wouldn't want to be paid for proofreading and editing it a bit.

@Dagamela You have a couple of good proofreading/edit offers here, and if for some reason you have difficulty getting in touch with them, count me in as a fallback option.

@everyone giving grief to @Dagamela: It's not cheating or plagiarism to have someone edit and proofread your work. In fact, the best writers always have professional editors work with them. Editing is so important and so needed that it's an actual profession.

Many high schools and middle schools in the USA insist on students "doing their own work" for essays, without outside help. That can help for learning basic writing skills. Beyond high school, that's not how college/university works, and that's now how the real world works, as noted by several people in this thread. Reaching out to collaborate with people is one of the best roads to success.

What I'm wondering about is how some of you got out of high school then into a college without knowing how to write a simple essay.

On the other hand, all you have to do is look at gaming sites like this to see why. When the majority of the posters don't know the difference between words like "to" and "too", or can't spell or punctuate at even 4th-grade level or form a complete sentence, and don't even care, then you know why their money is wasted on "college".

But at least you'll have fun paying the loans back for decades.

Collaboration on a job is no different today than it was 50 years ago, but that's not what the OP's problem is.

If he can't write his own appeal letter and have confidence in it, then he's got bigger problems with his education than to worry about some vague "collaboration" feel-good meme.
