Heyoo - I've been listening to what some people have been saying, discussing the 1v1 tournament and there doesn't seem to be all that much interest about it for one reason or another.

That being said HB had the idea on his stream that it might be good to do a under-powered 3v3 tournament instead, it has also been brought up numerous times during The NWL seasons.

I talked with Blackout and Lindenkron about this briefly and we decided that it was best to let the community decide between a 1v1 tournament and an under-powered 3v3 tournament.

So vote on which tournament! and if you have any suggestions for either tournament feel free to post them here.

Underpowered 3's would be much more entertaining to both watch and play. 1v1 made sense back in the day where we actually had alot of (and tiered) abilities and the actual duration of the fight and positioning mattered more as well as mana management etc. But nowadays it's just burst and RNG imo

Yeah thats true

By underpowered 3's, do you mean that top tier specs will be banned, or that you'll be running around in no-stat-gear etc?

Top teir specs would be banned, people would be playing things like ele (without shield enchant bug), shadow priest, maybe guardian or enhance, ret...that kind of thing.

allllllllllllllright i just wanna get something straight here i have done alot of this shtshow and honestly everyone would want to off themselves having to watch it. it is NOT fun to watch AT ALL. it is dampening games with a rdruid, ele or enh, spriest, or lock. maybe someone can make some terrible er comp but its mostly cookie cutter. So basically they are horrible to watch so dont go with the people in this poll they are soooo clueless on how boring this will be.

Not sure I fully understand, but do you mean that you have personally played alot of underpowered 3's at 19?
I do get your overall message, you think that watching two people 1v1 with WoD gear / talents / spells will be more entertaining to watch than 3's - I guess that's where we just need to agree to disagree because watching duels in arena sounds zzzzzzzz to me.

welp you can fall asleep at your computer when underpowered 3s is just who goes oom on the resto druid

Not being cheeky but what would you suggest then? Cause I see the same problem happening in the duelling tourny

i see no problem with a dueling tourney would be fun to see the best of each class duelers. i would hate to watch 10 minute games and you would probably bring out your bo7 with 1 win to make it an hour per match EleGiggle.

Fair enough! Cheers for the response!

Here's where your STARTER team can help, being the f2p plebs that we are.

Gimped 3s are actually rather fun once you take away all these redicous enchants we have.

The problem with this though is that underpowered classes with hybrid comps tend to run into dampening every single time. There just isn't enough pressure going out to land the kills with the offhealer spamming.

Because of this you'd end up with tons of enhance and elemental comps.

so no hybrid comps?

So i was thinking about this and i was wondering what you guys would consider underpowered. I think of it being split into underpowered and Tier 2 specs. underpowered would be things like spriest, enh, rdruid (bear and bear thrash only no cat), affliction lock, holy priest, fire mage, and maybe ele with no shield bug. Now the Tier 2 would be the rogue specs, ret, demo maybe destro idk about the other mage specs being allowed. So you can decide if you want a super underpowered one with the specs i said above (which was very terrible to watch as i stated in my other posts) or you can have a kind of Tier 2 ish so you can get more damage making it not so boring.

Probably both underpowered and teir two specs, there's always rules you can make to change things up a bit but to what degree it should happen is the question I suppose. Are there any classes you think should be excluded from within those two initial ranges?

i think underpowered 1v1 tournament is the way to go, with limitations Im not the one to write the rules for this but i think having rogues fight enh shamans would be pretty interesting.

Make a Tier 2 3v3 tournament imo, and obviously allow people to roll underpowered specs like fire mages if they want. I think that would be as enjoyable as possible for a 3v3 tourny at 19; a good middleground between a bursty game and a dampening game
