damn that was hard, can i get a mvp title or something like that?

This has been an amazing read. The babies crying over "how was this committee chosen!?" ... "why doesn't my guild get a say!?" ... "its a community run event!!" ... and so on, are genuinely embarrassing to read. Think of it like an event which is being run FOR the community by a third party. Regardless who came up with the idea, YOU didn't need to put in any work to actually bring about all of the stuff which has been laid out, and you can choose whether or not you want to compete! Plus, on the bright side, the people running it have actually shown that they are willing to take peoples opinions on board through back and forth on this thread and saying that they will talk over the constructive points raised! Where else will you see that? You guys have obviously never entered any other competitions before if you think that just by being a participant, you somehow have the authority to organise...

On the team members rules input thing:
People in this thread claim that they want this is for fairness' sake, but who is it you actually want to see in the committee? Leaders from the 6 invited teams? We didn't know who was invited until this post came about. What about the wildcard teams? Do we include them too? How would we do that, they're not all fully formed yet are they? OH, and don't forget about the 3's tourney! Better try and find a member from all of the 16+ squads who might show an interest in competing to come up with another set of rules. Oh shit, we now have 30 people in a group chat and if just 1 isn't mature enough, they will name and shame folk and get their team to do the same, shittalking about how the rules committee is unfair and how one guilds opinion is more valid than others and that the whole thing is a sham.

The long and short of it is everyone in here who now has SO MUCH TO SAY regarding what rules should and should not be, didn't actually make any efforts whatsoever to try and aid or help the current team who have actively dedicated time and effort to taking the TC forward. If someone can prove to me that they were brimming full of great and constructive ideas and were then turned away at the door of the evil rules corporation the please do by all means. But I'd be willing to bet that none of the people crying so hard actually made any positive effort to get themselves involved. Why would you? It's so much easier just to sit back, let things happen then QQ and flame for all the niggly details until it snowballs into people just bashing people like I'm doing now. :)

The truth is guys, Darkchewie didn't want to play due to the fact that with no GF'd gear there is nothing separating him from other extraordinary FC's such as Kindcreation and Puempeekstoh. Although Peump is already better than him so that might factor into things as well.

I doubt he was the only one on the team.

First off, I think the main 3 topics (discord, chants, and the commitee) have been thouroughly discussed in the 13 pages of this thread.

Thanks for the work that has been put into this, it is amazing what you guys have accomplished out of pure will and love for the bracket.

Ever since my team STARTER joined the bracket with the goal of playing this TC we have been putting in a lot of time, trying to practice, help others practice and provide content for the stream and the community to watch on our road to the TC.

Now i wonder, with so much dedication we have put in, why would anyone think that we should not be included in this "commitee" why would i waste my fucking time "circle jerking" instead of providing my teams pov to this. I see no reason why us and the team of SR are not in this commitee.

Including all the teams makes the decisions made look very official to the community, after all we are the ones making the event have any content, putting time into playing it, so why would we not want the experience to be fair and enjoyable????

I agree with most of the things decided to this point but definitly do not like the fact that having 9 people from 7 scares you guys into thinking we will have useless discussions.

Fix the commitee. My mouth is where my money is.

Looking forward to the TC.

PS: @Pizza @zeiren @Maineack I am very sad :(
Love your team and I was really looking forward to playing you guys.
Hope you can come back.

What is posted is what was decided on by a majority vote and if people don't like that then well, how can i say this lighty...

Don't compete.

Put so eloquently by @Blackout...
It is not as if anyone is exactly paying a registration fee. When you join you are duly accepting the rules. If you don't like them, do not partake. No one is forcing people to play.

Go organize your own tournament and you all can make the rules exactly how you all see fit. Until then, you will have to follow these if you want play in this one. That is how life works. It is a very very simple concept to grasp.

TDLR: Don't like rules = don't play
Want to make own rules = organize own tourny
Life = not always fair
Simple = hard concept for some people to wrap their minds around

Have a wonderful day!!

Where is the Cheers?

The discussion is getting out of hand. It blew up over TWO things. One, 13 SP not being banned (which the committee said they'd talk over after being reminded). Two, Discord leaking possible strategies.

Look at the size, and the work put into this. Is the slip of a few things reason to cause an uproar? The fact that the entire community has an option to even give constructive criticism is amazing. It shows that this truly is a community event, by the community, for the community.

Are people really against majority of the rules to an extent that they believe that a larger committee of different people should be deemed necessary? Or is it, as the many replies in this thread state, some minor issues that has already been promised to be addressed? Look at it from a realistic standpoint. You don't have to be a part of the committee to have an actual say. If you have a valid point, drop it in a comment in this thread, and it will be looked into, as stated. X, Y, Z being in the committee doesn't change the fact that this has been well organized, and that there has only been a few issues that has slipped by.

The organizers as of right now are stating that they read every comment, and that the major things that has been pointed out is going to be discussed. So there is no need for this actual outcry.

About the specific things about discord. It has been explained as to how this is going to be handled. And let's look at the factors as well. To perfectly execute on a call that has slipped through discord:

1) The snippet will have to be in that perfect moment where a strat has been called.

2) A person would have to be devoted, focused and have the effort to listen to random snippets, at random moments, from an opposing team, and communicate this information to his own team in order to take advantage.

3) All of this will have to happen flawlessly with a 5 minute stream delay.

Now put all of this inside of a "heat of the moment" situation yada, yada. Do you honestly believe that this is going to be a possibility? If anything, the chance of someone attempting this has a higher possibility of backfiring, than actually being useful.

TL;DR: You (as the community) are already a part of the committee, unofficially of course. Drop a comment with your valid input in a professional manner, and it will be looked into.

I really don't see what the continuous fuss is about.

I am looking forward to this event, and it has been well organized thus far.

Why are organizers of this tournament acting as if they don't have time to sit down leaders of teams in this tournament and talk about the rules for 20 fucking minutes? I get you are busy, and everyone has to deal with real life first. But it's blatantly obvious you guys had plenty of free time to work on this thread and the intro. If the organizers of this tournament are so starved of time that they can't sit down for 20 fucking minutes than I think you need to re-evaluate you're priorities. The rules and having every team on the same page sets the foundation for this tournament. And to be honest, the rules really aren't going to be that hard for each team to agree to.
Can't arrange a 20 minute discussion in curse with all the leaders?(something I highly doubt) Ok. Why not just create a thread for leaders to express their opinions. It would be better than nothing, and still gives leaders a voice. It would still spur on important discussions that need to be had within the community, until a convenient time can be found for everyone.
It's a shame this silly, easily-fixed situation is resulting in SR leaving the tournament. Please, organizers, don't let all this hard work go to waste.
