I thought this might be an interesting thread for anyone who used to play runescape / oldschool or still does play to share some good or bad stories of their experience on RuneScape.

I'll start it off with something that happened to me today with a little bit of real life story mixed in.

So I've been playing 07 again lately and tried for my fire cape yesterday, messed up on jad trying to brew but it was a good attempt. I had 3 super restores and 1 brew left when I died to him being half hp while tanking healers. So I tried again today and first attempt I was typing to some nub asking about barrows and died, didn't use many supplies so whatever, second attempt I got to wave 48 struggling with heavy lag and decided I'd take a break to go out for a smoke. Had a melee'r safespotted so it was all good I knew I was safe and went out for a quick butt, managed to step in dog shit and somehow cut my big toe on a stick while barefoot on my patio... went in and cleaned my dogshit / blood covered foot off / put peroxide and a bandaid on before I went back to find I was logged out of runescape. So I relogged and got 1 hit by a mage just as I turned on my prayer...

... RIP ...

Was a pretty shitty day.

Not sure how many others play RuneScape on TI but I'm sure anyone who has can probably think of a couple good stories, I hope I can get some cringes or laughs out of mine.
 
i phished enough gold/accs to fund my wow/steam acc/games

multi'd a void streamer and we snared him so he couldnt run back to grab gear
 
I started runescape in 2004 with my brother, we finished tutorial island and started killing goblins for gps. He convinced me that if we put our gp together we will have more purchasing power, so I gave all 80 of my gold peices to my older brother. He ran off and bought some bronze arrows with all my money. I cried.

I haven't forgiven my brother to this day.
 
I had a f2p ''twink'' back in 05 in runescape

Lvl 36 with full rune G and protect from melee walking around in Varrok? or was gg

How I got 43 prayer-in the wilderness near the altar they had bone spawns and I timed it if you do one circle run by the time you buried the last bone , the first one respawns. So I broke my prayer down, first week i reached 34, then next day 37, next day 41, and then 43.

How I got full rune G- Ani dragon shields, I dont know if this ''exploit'' works anymore but after you complete the dragon quest, you talk to the dude to give you another shield, then drop the one you got, and keep doing it until you get 28 of them and bank them upstairs in lumbridge bank. And people bought those shields for some reason in bulk. It was 20,000g in 15 minutes which back then it was insane.

It's called a "pure" not a "twink"

As for anti dragon shields, that still works although those shields are practically worthless
 
when i started as a kid my 14 cmb level acc got scammed , i had like 4k on it and i begged the guy to give it back.
 
Spent nearly 1 hour downloading the game and another 1 hour figuring out the controls... Cuz that was the first "3D" rpg I've played
 
Yeah I remember loaning one of my accounts to a friend back in 2006 or something and eventually hacking back into it to find he did zero training and was pretending to be someone's "GF" for free stuff...

Told some buddies about it and we made fun of him for weeks.

Oh boy... I started RS back in 2001 I believe. I have a lot of stories. Here are what I think were the best ones.

First off the bat, all these stories date from wayyyy back and I was always, ALWAYS, a total noob in this game but I am sure many can relate.

One of my greatest achievements was that I could trim rune platebodies as a member and had exclusive access to wavy capes.

But no seriously, I remember a guy convinced me that if I dropped an item on the ground and pressed ALT + F4, the said item would get duplicated. I lost a Black Scimitar. I was pretty bummed out since it was my brother's bday gift that I had bought him in game.

I watched someone die in a multi-combat zone and did not help them just to be able to loot their dead body. He died and I took all his loot. He came back not 3 minutes later. I had all his items equipped. He begged me to give them back but I told him I did not loot anything (I literally had them all equipped on me). I changed worlds and made over 1m from his items. I am still ashamed.

I was pking on my lvl 1 def pure and pkd a d-bow and a fury and died myself 5 seconds later while typing "wooot I got a fury lol" The guy that killed me laughed his ass off, rightfully.

My main was hacked while I was taking a 10 month break. I recovered my account to not only find it with a membership, but with an additional 10m with full dragon armour and over 1k d bones and green d'hides. I made good bank selling all of the gear/items. I was hacked 2 months later but did not notice until another 4 months since I had taken another break. I recovered my account to find the same exact thing had happened again.

I met Zezima in game.

One of my friends got killed during the Falador massacre

I never scammed anyone or lured anyone in the wild.

I got the top kills cape in Castle Wars on my lvl 3 skiller (catapult ftw)

Omg I have so many lol. I could go on and on.

I am actually currently playing RS and have been for the past week. Working on 99 FM. I am at level 90 atm. I realized that having played the game on and off for the past decade, it was rightfully time to get my first 99. So here is to hoping it comes through...!

Jesus i remember grinding 99 FM,by the time you ding 99 your hand will turn into flame itself.

They changed FM a lot. Its basically 100% afkable now lol. You add logs to a fire, the more ppl that do it, the more exp it gives.

But I did grind 1-80 like that back in the day! Long hours spent in Rogues Den. lol

that sucks

i had to burn over 40k maple logs manually...
