If you love 29 bracket and want to play some really challenging matches, I welcome you to try Nostalrius server. The server is vanilla, so no hairlooms - you have to work on all items yourself. Also all classes play different then WoD. But lately there is alot of action and we have premade battles that grow bigger with more people joining.

We currently have two 29 twink guilds: Almost Thirty (alliance) and Post Pwned (horde).
Its fine to join any faction, but alliance has less twinks and faster queues. Most needed classes on alliance are: warlock, warrior, priest, holydin. Horde could use anything except rogues and shamans which they already have ton of. Most active time is around 11 pm Moscow time, and games are on every day.

The server has very high population with over 7000 online at peak time. And you can see twink gear on AH very often. So with some dedication wont be hard to create a twink. But be prepared to face top enchants + librams + engineering + potions tryhards. If you have questions feel free to ask here or ingame. I play dwarf hunter Insanitty.

We have it all the way around at 39, alliance gets shafted massively.

also if u want decent games consider making a 39. Close to 24/7 pops with 1-2 min queues? The playerbase older(it doesnt mean much but eh). cuz the 14 yo kids are too dumb to even use the installer, etc. 39s ftw dont need scheduled junk. And since ur 39 you get to shit on all the 60 UD rogues

29 is much more active then 39 and games are more balanced.
When I came to this bracket, my hunter had 95% winrate on WSG for several months. Scores like this were common: http://i.imgur.com/zvjH2IP.jpg
But lately horde got alot of skilled twinks, got organized and its tough games now even against pugs.

No. This relevant for 60, but at 29 with have premade vs premade games that last for over a hour with tons of action.

People that have never played Vanilla have no idea how much vanilla sucked compared to today's game.
There is absolutely no reason in the world to play a vanilla server. I really do not get why someone would even want to play it at length. Try it out, maybe. Play it, no way...

What is better about it? That it is inherently unstable? That you have to manually have to dismount before you can use an ability? That you get dismount when you hit water? That you XP gains are a real thing with a twink. You can't just farm for gear. You have to be careful where you explore. Or did your vanilla server change your experience for you? Make it so it was not a REAL vanilla server. What else did they tweak? Do you even know?

2015 WoW is already free. When was the last time you paid for WoW? I have not paid for WoW in quite some time. I would certainly hope no one is paying cash for WoW at this point.
Why in the world would you play a version of a game that is 10 years old? Simply because it free?

This makes process of twinking in fact much more interesting and rewarding then current WoW, where half of your gear is hairlooms, and other half earned in one day. Also who cares about mount problems when there are no mounts at 29? If your games in 29 bracket on official servers are amazing, competitive, queues are instant and you are really happy with everything, you can pass. But are they?

Ah... But you need an end game toon to truly twink. To get the "true" twinking experience you had the support of an endgame toon. Twinks were EXPENSIVE. They could not be had without having an endgame toon. A rich endgame toon. That part of the reason there were so few of them.
Now this server may be handing out free gear or gold. If that is true, then they might as well have heirlooms as well. Again, not a "true" Vanilla server. Just a one that has been tweaked to be like one.

There will never ever be another Vanilla WoW. Today's WoW generation could never ever play it. It was just too terrible compared to today's game.

the part i quoted was half the fun in making a twink back in the day. going out as a level 1 to explore all the spots you're going to need for quests once you hit 19/29/39/whatever. i also never had a "rich end game toon" back in vanilla when i first started twinking. didnt gear/enchant as fast, but i still got the job done. for some reason i get the feeling you're here only to play devil's advocate and that you never actually played vanilla to begin with.

dismounting in water wasnt a huge deal, get over it. that wasnt changed until like 2011 or later ffs. dismounting before casting spells was super hard too. pressing my mount keybind was a real struggle for me.

what does this have to do with anything? in todays day and age there like like 4-5 gear slots that you actually have to "work" towards in gearing characters. half of the gearing is clicking through your heirloom book, as i said before.

I played WoW since day 1 US release. Nost crashes sometimes, but other then that, experience is exact same as it was on populated server in 2005. And no, there is no free gear or gold. Goldsellers and exploiters are banned.

As for the need to have 60. I had only 38 level warlock when i made my hunter twink. When I started twink items were cheap, I got all the best items at 2-5g per piece (they are more expensive now since twinking became popular, but with some patience can find them cheap). Then I leveled warlock to 48 and farmed thorium veins in Un'Goro to get him librams. He is now fully decked with all best gear and enchants and I still dont have any chars higher then 48. I know people who have no other chars then their 29 twink. They farmed gold by fishing and gathering
