Haste "Breakpoints"

My understanding is that Demo Locks can do equal if not better DoT spread damage than Affliction Warlocks. Not to mention better survivability, mobility, better single target damage and better CC. And one of the few classes who has burst damage.
The only thing they don't have is, if someone dispels an affliction warlocks dot; they take like 150 damage and get blanket silenced.
i already have a Demo lock tho... i just want an affliction lock for fun

Don't forget that haste also brings downs the CD of spells as well. Even with my mild haste/stamina Resto shaman I am able to get 3, almost four riptides up at one time. However, now I have a real mana issue because of the fast casts. It is as like am under the effects of Heroism/Bloodlust all the time.

Yes, does work that way. It lowers your global CD on abilities with lengthly CDs since 6.0.

Haste - Wowpedia - Your wiki guide to the World of Warcraft

Starting in Mists of Pandaria, and expanding in Warlords of Draenor, many classes have received passive abilities that cause haste to also reduce the cooldown of certain abilities. [Sanctity of Battle] and Flurry are two examples of this effect.

(from wowhead cos wowpedia is wrong)

Sanctity of Battle
Requires Paladin
Requires level 58
Melee haste effects lower the cooldown and global cooldown of your
Holy
Holy Shock
Judgment, Crusader Strike,
Protection
Hammer of the Righteous, Consecration, Holy Wrath, Avenger's Shield, Shield of the Righteous
Retribution
Hammer of the Righteous, Exorcism
and Hammer of Wrath.
=> its level 58

Flurry
Requires Shaman (Enhancement)
Requires level 20
Melee haste effects lower the cooldown and global cooldown of your Stormstrike, Lava Lash, Shocks, Unleash Elements, and Fire Nova.
=> only for 1 spec of 1 class

What Syra means is that haste and gcd won't have any impact on the amount of riptides you have up since it has a cd not gcd unike say hearing surge.

Does anyone know why the tooltips do not reflect these changes? Can often add a large chunk of haste while keeping spellpower constant and the damage on the tooltip will stay the same. I think the tooltips must not have been updated for WoD.

Also your gcd can't go below 1 sec.
Are you sure? And does this apply for all classes?

this isnt the case for all classes right? For instance the CD of fury warriors Bloodthirst is affected by haste afaik

Correct, the tooltips still don't include partial ticks.

it applies to all classes by default. specific abilities changes this depending on the specific ability itself. but since we are not discussing about specific specs, the default applies

Alright, what about GCD? I am pretty sure that my GCD is lower than 1 sec on my 19 MW

I think I saw that on wowwiki, which can be a horrible source at times. Googled around, saw some posts from 2009 saying it hard capped at 1sec. Not sure if that's still the case, but I'm inclined to think so.

And yea I'd be shocked if haste reduced CD on other classes... I'd have to check. Fury yes, that is the case.
