I've Always Wanted More Vanity In WoW!

Since I started playing I always thought it would be awesome if they added many more emotes! I always wanted to see my toon do pushups, my horde toons yell one of many horde rallying cries, have /kick as an emote etc.

I also wanted to see mini games! Somehow with the revamp of DMF, they made their mini games feel like chores. I was so excited when I heard about the games being introduced and was quite let down when it just felt like a daily.

When we got Dalaran in WOTLK we saw a lot of cool vanity items / vendors that made Dal feel like a real city! Complete with flower vendors, pie vendors, the fun first aid group on use items, shirts / white gear with awesome skins. This was a lot of fun for me but I feel like they could have taken it to the next level with more easter eggs or interesting npc / player interactions that weren't just quests.

Garrisons add a cool sense of purpose but once you hit your 3rd rank garrison there isn't much to do besides the daily chores. It would be awesome if they added more of a Dal feel to garrisons, better customization and better support of your selected factions. The faction banners are somewhat of a joke... I was looking to see my garrison completely take on the forsaken banners / decorations but instead it was just 2 dinky UC banners outside.

Just brainstorming / ranting a little. I'm sure some of my ideas come off as lame or whatever, but I think it would be good fun for everyone. I know 99% of this may not happen but I have been wanting a more immersive world with more fun vanity interactions in the game for a long time! Not that I'm dissatisfied or anything... I just feel like adding more small details could make the game undeniably better.

Anyone have any thoughts they'd like to share / discuss?

One of my favorite wtf moments in WoW, is when I was trouncing through Hillsbrad, and came upon a farm. I thought it looked rather odd, so I went up and talked to the npc. Turns out, it was a Plants vs. Zombies mini-game quest called Lawn of the Dead. I spent quite awhile that evening learning the game so I could get the cool talking flower pet I read about on wowhead.

I wish there were more of those sorts of things in WoW. And yeah Mocha, I wish DMF wasn't so lame. I've said before that it would be awesome if they actually made those games fun, and then let you play them on your smartphone or tablet. People would sub for that stuff if they made it like Angry Birds or Bejeweled, or whatever the casuals play these days. Then they wouldn't have had to put in the stupid garrison crap that gates your professions and the economy, just to get people to sub for the whole expansion.

I'm still waiting for the ability to lead my followers out into the world and slay some dragons. Sometimes, I think they are having more fun on their missions than I am on my main, who is supposed to be their general. Alas, the loneliness of power.

Or had real prizes you get to choose from depending on how well you did, making it a real game, instead of just a daily quest. Stuffed animals/pictures to hang up in your garrison/future housing etc. Roller coasters etc. Maybe that ones too far fetched though.

According to the datamined new stuff in 6.1, they're implementing some kind of races into the DMF. I'm looking forward to that. lots of achievements for beating various times with various characters, it looks like. I dunno maybe I'm odd but I like the DMF, I set myself up my own challenges like getting three rings in the first three throws, or how many Quick Shots I can get in a row. The Firebird's Challenge is the best thing since sliced bread. I know this was about vanity items but I wanted to address the DMF points.

True.

As for that racing idea... Could you imagine!? I would be at that all day long! That would be so insanely fun! Bring in some mario kart action!

In wow I want more customization within the game to make my garrison, character or whatever to feel more unique. Maybe like dyeing different armor pieces or something along those lines. I've always wanted my character to look unique and at the same time cool.

Time back I used to downgrade items to get other items that looked better and in my opinion it shouldn't be like that.

Before transmog there was a huge contemplation on whether or not it should be dying gear, or the transmog system. Unfortunately, transmog won out. They have talked about opening it up moreso which I would be a huge supporter of.

I don't want to HAVE to have the piece of gear on me... What if I just wanted to browse skins and recolors in the game? I do agree with the armor classification restrictions though. This would also kill the transmog auction market which may not be a bad thing as it's raised prices of easily obtainable common gear to prices that no leveler would ever consider. On the other hand, nobody uses / needs BOE greens / blues any more.

Yes but this was how I used to feel before transmog came out in cataclysm. It got better with transmog but I think maybe like tailors should be able to make dyes. About the transmog market, yes dyes would affect them but the armor pieces still has the same layout just different colors with dyeing. I think that it would be a cool addition to the game in my opinion.

Good idea! It would make unique models as hard to come across as they are currently, but say for example Talbar is GFd but you want it... You could recolor Feline Mantle to achieve the same result. That would be awesome!

Exactly, tailoring make dyes for cloth, leatherworking for make dyes for leather and mail items and blacksmiths make dyes for plate items. There can be many ways to implement it to the game. Dyes should use rbg and not the guild tabard design coloring because that is awful. It has always been hard to make a nice transmog for a 19 due the the item restriction with transmog.

I wish professions made transmog vanity gear that had class/racial themes. Say your exalted with a faction you could buy patterns for xmog gear for your profession. Example: exalted with UC and a LW, you can buy patterns to make a dark ranger xmog set.
