10v10 WSG Wargames - 1/10/15

Neonbad - any class or spec on any server will be bis but agm.

Heya Neon, thank you for signing up.

I was wondering if you could perhaps be a bit more specific.

It helps if I have toons / roles that you can play specifically when I'm balancing teams.

Zara bwl hunt horde
Zara azuremyst hpally horde
Zara druid guardian resto -horde alex

I think it's great that you've found several people who want to join in this fun, but for me personally I think it would be better if they sign up themselves. It gives a better sense of commitment to the event if someone has to post their interest themselves. Like, maybe this is just me, I don't know, but if a person can't be bothered to post on their own behalf, I instinctively feel like they aren't as committed to the event or the community. I'm sure everyone you posted for is a great person, this isn't about them specifically because I don't know any of them, but I just feel like if this is a community event, I'd like to see that the participants are actually participating in our community. Just my thoughts, I might be alone in this thinking.

They don't have TI accounts for their own reasons.

Oh. Well, okay... It's not my call, it would be AlbinoCow's call if he thinks we should prioritize people who are part of our community, but I think it's great to also try to expand the community through this so either way works for me I suppose, it's not up to me.

ti banned or not, people should still be able to play whether or not they currently have access to this forum

just like mlk i believe in equal rights, i dont see any reason for these people to be turned away from wargames

I'll just go ahead and say right now that some people who sign up won't make it into the final games.

This was the case for 1-2 people in the last 10v10.

When it comes down to there being more than 20 people signed up, I make decisions to take people based off of what they can play and how new they are.

Taking both of those things into account allows me to balance newer players with more experienced ones, and allows me to try to make the comps as balanced as possible in terms of experience and classes.

I'm not going to make any prejudices based off of how the individuals are signed up, unless Albino and I have a discussion about it first.

something about this rubs me the wrong way, though i understand what youre trying to accomplish

turning people away from wargames who may have taken the time to sign up early on in the week purely because theyre better at their class than someone else seems a bit sketchy

big mid fight so mobility isnt that important, you wont be gettin focused as healer so wont need that much survivability, rsham has clense so does mw :p disc is just best healer
None of them have my mobility/survivability/stealth and snares, let alone sexy xmog and skill.

If anything, I choose the newer, less experienced players over the more experienced players.

The bias is towards educating newer players in 10v10s rather than playing with the best of the best.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
