I'm actually quite interested looking into this Meta gem too: Mystical Skyfire Diamond - Item - World of Warcraft Prior to the creation of this thread, everyone had mixed opinions about the melee haste meta. Most people, including myself, thought it was 240 haste. We clearly were wrong!
When I find this pattern I'll look into the spell-haste version and see if it's stronger then we expect. In the meantime, I would really appreciate some help from others for arranging some tests and snapshots to confirm this if possible.I'm sure this meta would be extremly hard to thoerycraft into somthing viable via PvP or PvE seeing the required activation sucks ass! Nonetheless just curious.

Well me too. You seem to be using the wotlk meta instead of the bc meta.
Edit: Thundering Skyfire Diamond is the right meta.

It's not really worth it unless you're simply trying to get a high haste rating

I do find it strange how strong the melee meta is however. I swear i don't remember it procing 1200 melee haste back when Burning Crusade was in it's prime. Oddly stronger in comparison than the magic haste meta.Now I only got 1 more thing to test until this thread is concluded! Going to try the Wrath spell haste meta to see if it scales any better. This is not evident for the wrath melee haste seeing it's way weaker than bc version, so curious if the magic one will result the same.

there were some other gems that were bugged too awhile back, not sure if they were fixed? the "perfect" green gems from WOTLK had issues where they were giving +280 stats. last year i saw a 70 warrior that had all perfect version green gems socketed. i asked why...all he said was....scaling.

The meta was different in TBC. It increased your next spell's cast speed by 50%. They changed it later to give flat haste for a couple of seconds instead.Thanks for letting me know about this buff with a snapshot
