2014 Twink Cup $1500 Prize Pool

myrm doesnt troll when it comes to having money.

i guess thats the result of actually having money LMAO.

all the poor mfkers come in here like DAMN 1.5k LIES NOWAY LOL PROVE

hes obviously not trolling, seems like only people who dont know myrm sayin shit like that

well yeah rofl. Spending $1500 on a niche bracket is definity a good business tactic to get activity for and im all game for that, weither its just a ploy or not needs to be seen. But its human nature to be skeptical, i.e my bullshit meter went off the charts when i read this thread only time will tell aye?

And yes £900 is alot of money to be throwing at a video game.

it's beardfacé!

Also interested in joining/forming a solid team.

This is why we can't have nice things...everytime you try to organize something real all the fucking children run in with their muddy shoes on

In response to the reports that I had just dealt with:

Some people are interested in this tournament solely for the prize (whether or not I find these interests to be ethical or not are neither here nor there).

I don't find it to be completely out of line for them to ask for proof of the prize before taking action. With that being said it is up to them if they wish to contribute to this tournament without there being "proof" of the prize in the meantime.

If the OP doesn't care to supply proof, as he is not obligated to do so by any means, that is his choice.

All I can say is that if a person tricks a community to become active without there being the prize that was proposed, you can bet that the person bringing on the challenge will not have an easy time remaining part of the community. That's why you shouldn't worry about the prize. I find it ridiculous to request proof out of the user proposing the challenge as he is one of the most ethically capable persons I've met in my opinion.

I am worried that all of this hype will result in only 2-3 teams ever being formed and overall a pattern of lacking dependability across teammates- as this has always been the case.

I can't tell you how many premades were delayed an hour or two because a team or both teams have been missing 1-2 players. Don't be those kids. Either way I hope this helps out with activity and helps give people a purpose to play which will actually drive them to play. I personally wish that people played with the purpose to make things fun for other people but who am I kidding here.

Not sure as though I'll be interested in competing for the prize. Since the majority of my Mayhem brothers quit years ago I'd lost all interest in competitiveness and only care about activity.

Cheers

Myrm transferred an entire server load of characters for me to Turalyon with no questions asked, as well as many others that he wanted to bring over from Elune, friends, and the other servers he's played on.

I see no issue with this. Now lets move on.

I find it hard to distrust a guy who bought me a riding turtle and countless tcg tabards for nothing in return, xferred majority of my 19s, xferred majority of my ingame friends and irl friends' 19s, xferred 1/2 of a high population 19 guild to his server in an attempt to revive the bracket he ACTUALLY GIVES A FUCK ABOUT on a new server completely. That's all I've gotta say, make some teams, get involved, have some fun and go for a shot at a prize pool most people would probably love to earn by playing a video game not even at end game content.

I can see activity increasing as a direct result of the tournament especially closer to the date. Thanks Myrm this is really generous of you.

This sounds like a great idea. I, too, will vouch for Myrm's credibility. There should be absolutely no doubt he will deliver. That said, I will get my gear updated and would love to play on an arena or wsg team. Let me know if you would like me to play priest for you.

It seems to me that the 3v3 tournament prize is not very substantial compared to the WSG prize. For those of us who need money in game as well, I'd be willing to begin a fund of WoW gold for the first place arena team. All of my gold is on Bleeding Hollow so I'll collect gold from donators on BH and reward the winning team's Bleeding Hollow representative. This, of course, is only if Myrm does not mind. I'll begin the fund with a contribution of 15k out of my own pocket. That's 5k per person, which for some people can go a long way. If a couple other rich twinks on BH match my donation or contribute, say, 5k, we could hopefully garner 30, 40, maybe 50 thousand for the winning team. If the fund grows large enough I'd be happy to scale the prizes so both first and second place are rewarded.

In order to prevent the senseless accusations Myrm received from coming to me, I'll assure you all I am good for the money, and a trustworthy person. Across my 3-4 year term as Laughing Skull FTW GM I've spent hundreds of dollars on transferring people to my server, and well over 50 thousand gold on in-game twink funding. There are scores of twinks that will vouch for those claims. As of right now I have over 100k on BH, most of which I have absolutely no use for. In fact I just gave 2k away to my friend crippie Alex just two days ago. Anyway, if anyone would like confirmation, I can invite you to my guild and you'll find ~150k in the bank. That said, if you would like to make a contribution to this additional prize fund, please message me on Twinkinfo, or send in-game mail to Dontdodrugs on Bleeding Hollow. Good luck to all the teams and I hope these prizes will spark incentive for participation.

Cheers.

Why the 3 guys who are sceptical are thoses who never won something (and by extension will never won something) ? I mean don't get me wrong their is 2 solutions : they get a 0-0, a 1-1, a 2-2 in their favor in premades in the best case, or brag PUG wins. If you don't set a team just don't talk at all.

Don't worry guys (talking for those scepticals), TL will always recall you that the throne is already occupied by bunch of elitist jerks who GY farm for 2 expansions already (incoming the 3rd one).
