whats wrong with the new ui?

This is a petpeeve but i really hate this minimalistic look that permeates EVERYTHING nowadays. They coulda have simply made this new UI without getting rid of the art that made the game iconic. Better, they coulda make a lot of cool borders for the UI with themes like Horde/Alliance/Racial themes. Instead, it looks like a mobile game.

I guess it fits with my Windows 10 having only a black bar and a white windows logo. Really, what the hell is happening and why are companies growing allergic to visual identity that has more information than a white sheet of paper? Bring Windows XP visuals back.
----------

All that being said, if i ever get over my loathing of Blizzard enough to come back, i really wanna make a soloing Shaman. The new talent trees look phenomenal. I thought about playing a DK too, but DK trees look kinda uninspired. Shamans got lucky, i guess.

Dang, I'm just now learning you need a level 10 character to play a Demon Hunter or Death Knight. I had to level a throwaway character to 10 and SOIL my fresh account with the level 10 achievement on it... and then apparently I forgot to loot something so now the Postmaster is holding this throwaway character hostage for 30 days until the mail deletes itself :PepeHands:

That being said, have Demon Hunters always had this much mobility and healing/defense? Two 20 second CD heroic leaps, one Disengage, built in slow fall and double jump, I'm healing about 300 health minimum every 5 seconds (this is on my test DH on my other account using the panda greens), 65% Stamina boost and double armor! What a fascinating and fun class I've been deprived of if this was always the case.

For mobility the new things are the extra leap/dash charge, and the talent options for reduced CD on Infernal Strike and 70% movements speed after Vengeful Retreat.

https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=203747/mastery-fel-blood didn't used to give attack power, but it looks like we lost the passive that gave us straight damage reduction. Edit: We still have the damage reduc passive, but don't get AP from our mastery until level 44. So same as it was. Either way, DH was my most played twink this xpac and it looks like it will be in DF too :ez:

I think 20's MM Hunters should be less of a problem now. This is the talent tree I currently use. I get Rapidfire and 1 Point in Careful Aim. Sometimes I switch this point to streamline for attack speed.

Now while this makes MM Hunter more bursty, I experienced a big loss of focus without being able to use steady shot to regenerate focus. As focus regenerates pretty slow and there is (I think) no drink that helps you gain focus. So 20 MM Hunters you entcounter will either have a boosted Aimshot with Careful Aim (what makes them weak after burst), or they go without the boost and choose Steady Shot regeneration. Also the loss of knockback skills is also quite annoying. 29s Hunters are another topic tho...

Btw Is Demon Hunter Tank Spec easy to play? I think I want to test that out in DF, but I always thought they lack survivability

All of these positive changes don't matter, when BGs don't pop at all. F2P without PvP is nothing for me. In fact the dirty 29s killed our bracket forever. 20s disappeared. I fear they never come back.

Actually I'm sitting in the queue for two hours now. In the whole weekend I could play only one BG in EU, that was a Seething Store with 5 vs 5 players. :(

that's why i moved back to 19s one 29s less to care about.

Dh tank is fairly easy to play, and they never lacked survivability, they just tend to take a bit more damage than say, a plate wearing class or a bear with iron fur. But they can self heal a hell alot. They were definitely more viable than a blood dk where your survivability depends heavily on your cd management and whether you can get that drain spell to crit each time. Or prot warrior back in slands who dont have a self heal (except crusader) and would slowly die over the course of the boss fight
In DF Dh tank is a bit stronger with more self heal options, and definitely better than Blood dk now.

I enjoy the new talent trees, I feel like I have a lot more freedom in what playstyles I can play around with. Every Druid spec has multiple play styles that I can choose from, and perform well with. Stealth stun makes feral a lot more fun, and flexible to me. I enjoy the extra survivability every spec gets, frenzied regen and barkskin are very good additions to the Druid toolkit. Overall I enjoy the additions Druids can choose to add in their toolkit. None of this matters tho 29s still will steamroll all 20s lul

I enjoy the new ui changes, it gives functionality to a system which should’ve had it a long time ago. If you prefer the old ui, you can setup your action bars in the old ui fashion. More customizability for the player is always good. You shouldn’t take any subjective opinion on the ui system, including mine. You will have to try and use it yourself to come to your own personal conclusion.

Go easy on the Blood DK comparison there ;)
So long as a Blood DK is attacking - they’re ok. It’s when they aren’t hitting someone that they will struggle in comparison to other tanks.:ez:

Ok so I just ran Auchindoun (Got 2x socket + tert, but blue -.-), And it's now even easier as BM Hunter. With the Class Tree Skill 2/2 you get 50% more heal for your pets. It's huuge, my pets are literally invincible now. If I keep Mend Pet up, The HP of my pets drops never under 100% at bosses.

Did you get a drop from every boss solo? WoD was always different than the other xpacs, curious if this is still a thing.

I think I only remember getting one drop instead of 2 in legacy mode when you log out the high level and solo with the twink, but always getting a drop when you solo in normal... which is wayyyy better than say legion where i solo the boss 10 times and get 2 drops.

edit- I also think that if you did it as a duo you would both get a drop proper for your armor type each boss... but not if you trio it, still only 2 drops. So if that's still the case, going duo would probably be the best way to grind those upgrades! WoD was the best worst xpac ever! :kekD:

I did it solo. I got 1 socketed + tert blue first boss, 1 socket blue 2nd boss, and the other bosses dropped 1 blue each without socket

Yeah, i just ran shadowmoon quick (quick meaning i died 2 times cuz too many adds) and got a drop each boss.

No upgrades for me but thems the breaks. Good stuff!

Even WoD world items are much lower ilvl than the dungeon ones when they upgrade on beta, not much about how they have things scaling makes sense on the beta. Hoping there's some definitive patch to beta or PTR soon that clears the intended end-result up a little. All different sources of items have all different ilvl results for the same rarity??

I'll say it again, less confident each time.... "no way blizz lets it go live like this." :FrogeConcern:

Been spamming iron docks solo prot warr alot. I noticed the 2nd boss DOES NOT drop loot for 12/12 runs. The rest drop loot and can upgrade tert+socket

I did more auchindoun runs and only dropped normal blues. I then did group up with a vet friend and did queue. But my loot got worse. Most of the time i got only 1 drop ea dungeon.

i can confirm.

i have a feeling it's because the fight takes so long when you solo them.

so i just let my 60 kill the boss and this way at least i get loot 50% of the time.

came here looking for a comment like this. Seeing these changes but bracket is dead = look again at this forum maybe in a while
