How to: Loot Destiny, Hand of Edward the Odd, and Skullflame Shield under Level 20. (lvl 13 or 18)

Did you think these items would remain unobtainable under 20?

Not sure if it helps you, but I spent 3 days farming on a 4-char group, 9k kills 1st day, 10k kills second day, 5k kills 3rd day, and got 2 epics in 12 mins in the same character, on the last 100 kills of the last day..

RNGesus has to be with ya on this thing..

That does help, honestly. I don't have issues with long farms - I farmed multiple epic foamspittles for my own characters back in the day.

The issue with this farm is feelings of self doubt - is this the wrong area somehow? Did maintenance change the drop rates? Is there a special way to do this that other people know that I don't?

It's irrational and entirely based on not getting an epic yet. Just getting one is a huge morale boost. After all, every single green/rare foamspittle staff at least told you: "you're in the right place, it will drop in time."

Literally me on farming some other items as F2P. Hearing someone else got it in the exact same way in similarly long timescales is very reassuring :PepeComfy:

For sure its something irrational.. But well, the fear of "I am doing this wrong" is a thing for sure.. My tip: Do the farm while watching TV, series or hearing any podcast.. That way you take stress out of the fact that "im killing this orcs for nothing"

Hello, I logged on a character I havent played in years and I have a blackskull shield that requires level 18. What is it worth?

Basically nothing unless it’s an unobtainable ilvl 28 lvl 19 required. If so, it might be worth 200k-300 to someone looking for versatility and block rating. A level 18 version from years ago is probably gonna be ilvl 24, basically useless, since a new level 18 one would be ilvl 27 (also low value)

giphy.gifanother weekend, 0 epics..

Try to have different chars on different realm clusters also use the different chromie time/bfa timeline (if you got acces), and that could increase the chance to get the epics.

@zazzyfraz, @dANNN, @creepyjoe, do BoE items scale to the mob's or my character's level? Would it be feasible to farm on a level 16 that immediately locked experience after hitting level 16 (so that mobs are scaled to level 15)?

If your char is within the level boundaries of the zone it will loot according to your char's level (unless you can prove otherwise). 16-18 will give 17 armor and 18 weapons. Even when boss levels are several levels higher than the looter - you will still loot according to the level of your char.

For example I looted a level 17 armor piece from a level 21 boss inside Sethekk Halls on a level 17 char.

Boe items scale to mob levels and mob levels scale to your character level.

Mobs scale to your character level once the character has >25% experience and then logs back in. Before those requirements are fulfilled, mobs remain a level below your character level.

Wait, so, if my farmer char is lvl 16 but i see the mobs at lvl 15, does that mean the mobs will not drop lvl 18 required epic weapons? Do i need to unlock XP, do a quest, then relock XP and then start farming?

Lol no you're fine, all my characters are 16 at 5% or lower experience and I looted epics ranging from Krol Blade (51) to Hand of Edward the Odd (57).

In fact, being level 16 with sub 25% experience allows you to kill the mobs even faster, yielding more loot. I highly recommend it.

What class would be the best to do this farm with? I just got into farming and would like another farm to get into. I didn't see anything about it in the comments unless if I missed it. Thanks for the help!!

Good AoE. Monk, Arcane, Bear. Being a Tank with movement speed in Cat and having instant ranged Moonfire seems best to me.
