[Alpha] Base Skills and PvP talents at Level 20

I hope Warlocks fall into the Druid/Shammy category. Like, i kinda get it, Paladins are more one note so it's harder to make a talent tree for them that doesn't have a cookie-cutter path for what you're building, but i hope for Warlocks that always had a ton of utility, that they have so many options that you can't really figure out what's best.

When you have multiple paths for success and they all are equally viable in their own niche and help develop various playstyles, that's when the class is at it's best.
I wouldn't get my hopes up for warlock talents. Yes, it will be strong but you'll pretty much pick your current spells. I don't expect much utility on there. At least not in spec trees. Class trees might be good if all pets are available. A big part would be pet skills I'm pretty sure.
I called hybrids being good and that's what happened so I expect monk to have great trees. That's because hybrids share the same dmg abilities between specs so there's more room for other choices. So look out for monks

with command pet being level 21, I expect command demon to also be out of reach for locks. That said, they really seem to be front loading everyones talent trees with utility so locks *could* see some pretty good combos and we could get an expansion of them being incredibly nasty control specs. Which would be awesome. Aff lock is just way too much fun this xpac and if it got something like demonic circle or even the talents from the current third row (not out of the question)... theyd be in a great spot even relative to the dps classes we've seen so far

But yea. Monks are almost guaranteed to TRUCK in DF. They're already burst gods and theres no way they dont pick up disable.

Just checking in to see whether you’ve had a chance to check DK PvP talents and Runeforging.
I have not. I started a rogue after finishing priest, saw my 6th WOD garrison in 10 days and just afk'd out of boredom last night. Maybe I'll do DK instead of rogue. I havent played one in YEARS and maybe it'll liven up the grind a bit.

For the pandaria portal you only have to talk to the initial quest giver then bam portal is up and you can skip the gunship battles. After that you just hightail it over to the vendor

Chops, I really do feel for ya. Seeing that Garrison after 6 times would break even the toughest of people :FrogeConcern:

I won’t ask anytime soon then whether we can get Lvl 3 or the Shipyard :p

Maybe the nostalgia of a DK may lift ur spirits enough to push through the pain barrier! Here’s hoping!

Keep up the good work ;)

looks like you get razorice, fallen crusader, stoneskin, and unending thirst

Also pvp talents are unchanged from live. updated the mainpost.

Chops, can you check if casting prayer or renew drop shadowform as sp? It used to be like this long ago

prayer of mending removes shadowform, renew does not.

Resto in Moonkin form can only cast Regrowth, right?

No Swiftmend/Rejuve?

Same questions but for Balance, I guess?

(And sorry if this has already been asked/answered!!!)

chops, can you please check and see if mut rogues mastery is still split into 2 ranks? I know wowheads calc still says it is but I am curious(hoping) it's wrong. Ty

Idk if thats an oversight by blizzard but in core warrior build there are talents affecting dual wielding and there's core war passive allowing dual wielding. Does it mean arms/prot with 2 weapons? Alternatively fury with 2h?

Chops has been amazingly helpful for those of us without the DF alpha.

Anyone else wanna petition to make him a mod?

I have 1000 meetings today but I just did a quick run through and no, this doesnt work like we'd have hoped. Core abilities require the "standard" set up for the spec. Raging blow requires two weapons, prot cannot dual wield, arms can dual wield but MS requires a two hander, etc.

DW arms, 2hander fury, big parry boy prot... not gonna work. At least not right now.

Also, Tactician isnt currently proc'ing which is pretty troubling.

I still struggle to understand why the hell they do this. Where does this obsession with streamlining specs to the point of stupidity comes from?

for better or worse, I think its a commitment to spec fantasy. Arms is the soldier, fury the berserker and prot the tank. Allowing DW arms, 2Hander fury and 2hander/DW prot muddles that spec fantasy a bit.

As cool was we think they might be, I can very easily see how they'd like to discourage this from a designer standpoint.

Spec fantasy aside they did allow for the pure damage prot build in the current tree so maybe we will see 2h prot someday. I wanna se some bruiser playstyle in the bg with wannabe blood dk warrior
