[Alpha] Base Skills and PvP talents at Level 20

I kinda hope they do t replace things from now on, having the option to mind blast and stuff when kicked in holy is cool. I liked it back in the day when we had both and could just improve one or the other via talents

Updated with Mage baseline spells. Pretty predictable stuff there.

Pally spells/abilities/talents are incredibly wonky on the alpha server so I'm gonna hold off on those for right now until they get a full update.

On Fire Mage talent tree seems you have to spend a point on fireblast to unlock but its already on baseline spell book? Maybe will change when you select fire spec

I went to check the wowhead talents. Ret and Prot seem to be up correctly, Holy is still really wonky.

If the Paladin talents will look like this for the beta and live launch, i am quite disappointed. Maybe Shaman was the entire gas from the dev team, because the Paladin trees look awfully shallow.

Edit: Checked the Mage talents. I'm also highly disappointed. Mage and Paladin trees are just creatively bankrupt, imo. You have really few options ( you DO have options tho ), compared to Shaman where the sky is the limit. Mage for instance, i felt obligated to get Block, Cone and Invisibility. Spellsteal and Slow aren't bad but you have a lot of CC already, and i don't know how useful Remove Curse will be. Mirror Image and Alter Time are good but require too much points, and most passive talents in the trees overall are kinda weak.

Maybe that's a issue with the classes. Mages and Paladins are a bit more one note than Shamans and Warlocks, so maybe we'll get something good from Locks. But Paladin, DK and Mage trees are really disappointing to me.

Ret literally only gets better. You have baseline everything that you have now and in addition to that you get to chose either 2 stacks of crusader strike+lower cd on judgement or proc build with art of war both going into shield. Or just go full ham with both art of war and 2 stacks of crusader strike. Also hand of freedom. Also 2 stacks of charger. Also wings when ally dies. And list goes on. How is this possibly bad? Ret is A tier right now and with those talents it has potential to be fotm

And prot gets dream level talents. Blessed hammer + holy shield at the same time. 2 charges of your no.1 dmg spell (judgement) with a bonus charge on grand crusader procs. All for 5 points.
Also wings when ally dies

This too assuming it works.

Also 2 stacks of charger.

Ye for prot this 2 x the knockbacks if you play that honor talent.

Ret is not even close to fotm with these talents lol You seem to forget what we call fotm atm :FrogeConcern:
Keep in mind how scuffed hunter looks like compared to what we have. Obviously they will keep their crown, but there's place for competition now

I mean in terms of BG ret is nowhere close. Their dmg is rather low compared to arcane, destro, hunter, warr, etc.
Hunter is improved from what we have now. MM retains same spells but gets posthaste, kill shot and dispel for shields or hots. BM gets 30% dmg on pet which is huge tbh. Survival seems nerfed at first glance but 300 IQ players like me already found the cool playstyle with these talents. :ez:

Fotm isnt dictated by power, its how easy it is to wield it. Just like every single hunter player today is an utter retard so is the next fotm class. If raptor strike still hits like a truck, getting fewer buttons to press is only going to increase survivals fotmness.

I don't care for being fotm, i care for being versatile and fun. I leave that talk for the former Hunters. The entire idea of the talent trees for me is to expand your playstyle and decisionmaking. That was absolutely achieved with Shaman, i don't see it being true for Paladins.

Yeah, Ret gets better ( i will assume so does Shaman on that case ), but i still feel the talent trees are uninspired and way more cookie-cutter than Shaman and Druid trees.

Well yeah thats because druid and shaman are cool

I hope Warlocks fall into the Druid/Shammy category. Like, i kinda get it, Paladins are more one note so it's harder to make a talent tree for them that doesn't have a cookie-cutter path for what you're building, but i hope for Warlocks that always had a ton of utility, that they have so many options that you can't really figure out what's best.

When you have multiple paths for success and they all are equally viable in their own niche and help develop various playstyles, that's when the class is at it's best.

I still do not know how they will balance all classes with all specs , also my fav classes are dk , rogue , i'm excited for the new talent system it will make the twinking back which remind me of old twinking in woltk and cata before they ruin the talent system , but now they have it back maybe there will be fun again , but i hope they will make it balanced
