Legion Rogue Artifact Weapon

As some of you people know it was a while since Legion was around and having started a F2P twink recently i got confused how the relics add ilvl to the weapon (iirc i thought each relic adds ilvl to the weapon.

I have the Assa daggers with ilvl24 "+5ilvl" shadow relic and a epic procced ilvl27 +6 Iron relic.
In my mind i thought this would be 5+6=11ilvl increase. However my stupid daggers are mere 24ilvl.

Is my memory just bad? I would really appreciate some clearance on this.

A while back, someone discovered a glitch that allowed you to acquire artifact weapons up to ilvl 54. Blizzards fix was to essentially remove relics from the equation and have artifacts act like heirlooms, regardless of what relics you placed in them.

Interestingly, relics themselves werent removed or changed. They just no longer work. So while its sad that your epic procd relic doesnt apply ilvl, it is still kinda swaggy. At least worth a bank slot to keep em around for giggles.

They got nerfed to be like heirlooms with the relics only serving as additional levels to which it will scale to. People discovered that wrapping BOE relics and slotting them gave 17 leves instead of 4, with 2 of them making a artifact ilvl 54, but it just so happened that there was another exploit tied to them which allowed you to get limitless health,damage and armor which was abused by players, high levels included (mostly russians) which led to artifacts as a whole being shitted down to heirlooms, thanks blizz!

The stats are gone, but anyone with a GFd ilv54 artifact will see an increase in their item level when equipped. even if the tooltip shows ilv24.
