How do you get leech gear?

Heya
Just wanted to hear if anyone would share some info on how to get gear with leech on.
I've gazed in awe on this amazing toon:

Kompe - Character (worldofwarcraft.com)

But I have yet to see gear on the AH or as a drop that has leech on it...

How do you get it?

Thanks for all your help :)

This is specifically for bfa, legion green boes. And dungeon gear from bosses in bfa and wod.
(wod doesent proc sockets on dungeon drops)however loot from atal dazar and freehold all have a chance to proc both leech, speed and/or socket. However a slim chance.

all that gear, 182 HKs.

I don’t want to be a naysayer, but seeing as I recently invested a fair amount into a mostly full leech set I thought I’d share.

Leech DR really starts falling off around 15% in open world and after 12% in BGs. After a short time of testing, I’ve found the sweet spot to be around 13% world/ 10% in BG for maximum tert stat rating benefit for leech, especially if you’re giving up another tert, like speed, which is more forgiving in terms of DR (see glances thread).

it also seems that leech ticks have a small ICD of sorts, which is extremely frustrating. For me, I typically do 400-800 moonfire ticks per average BG. However this only translates to about 50-80 leech ticks when I look into recount, meaning that the wide majority of my dots did not return the health I thought they were supposed to. In terms of total healing provided, it pales in comparison to the normal belt heal and is absolute dogshit compared to the belt heal if you use an alch stone.

all in all, leech for me was a fun experiment, however it falls short of what I thought it was going to do. It has an unforgiving DR threshold at 20, and doesn’t return health on 100% of my attacks as a dot class. It does not heal for any great amount in my experience to date and in my opinion farmers are way overpricing these items for the sake of the tert stat.

I might recommend leech if you play a class that attacks slowly or would have a high health return per hit (aimed shot, chaos bolt, etc)

How would details track that? Surely you wasnt below 100% hp the entire bg?

i have found that there is no diminishing return on ticks as a survival in hunter that spams serpent sting

First off, thanks to everyone for replying, greatly appreciated :)

So what you are saying is that I could farm this gear on a level 24/25 toon in a BFA area, and be lucky to get either leech or speed as a tertiary stat and even a socket, is that correct?
And if it's farmed with a level 24/25 toon it can be used on my level 20 toon?
What area would you recommend in BFA as an Alliance toon post patch 9.1.5?

Cheers,

We've drifted to a point in this thread where this guide is going to be useful.

I'd recommend you farm this gear in legion zones, not BFA, as necklaces in BFA zones dont exist and rings in Legion zones are far more prevalent.

But yes, this gear can randomly proc a tertiary, a socket, or both. Its a low chance on each so be prepared for a pretty extensive grind.

Yup you are right again Chops.
I was just worried that patch 9.1.5 changed the possible drops?

you are correct. I do need to pay more attention to this. I was in frontline combat for the majority of the BG though so I imagine that I spent a good bit of time below 100%

I’m old school so I use recount, so I will check on overhealing metrics to see if there’s anything from leech there.

Theres still priest bubbles and stuff but ye id check it. Also, eww. Do you use omen too?

Think it was ever only on mythic drops

I mean the mage in my tag below has all bags/bank full with gear from draenor dungeons, yes a lot of mythic but iirc he has equally many from regular ones with gem procs. I only remember they are GFed because i got them while they had the right ilvl to be able to enchant them, enchanted them and then they increased the ilvl on those items.

Furthermore I did loot a gem procced neck from Socretar's Rise altho not a dungeon at least that way is possible. (These rares can be killed once per day for the few ppl who dont know.)
