Happy birthday to all!

10 years already.

10 years since starter edition was created.
And that level 20s have gradually appeared in the twink world.

So why not celebrate this symbolic date?

In the last 10 years, many stories have emerged with level 20 players. Whether in Europe, America or even Asia. If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that many of you have a lot of memories of free-to-play.

What about you? What are your fondest memories of the game?

Here is my favorite screenshot, back in 2012. I joined the F2P community in 2011, it was the first time I was playing World of Warcraft. 10 years later, I'm glad to finally work in the video games industry and organizing F2P events on my free time. It's also thanks to you, guys!

Many of you here gave me useful feedbacks about what to improve, this helped me to reinforce my motivation and keep working. Also a lot of things would have not been possible without the help of amazing guys like Korni, Ttoni, Kadrak, Conzil, Dizko, Brihan, Darkain (and many others).

thank you all for 10(+) years of fun, and what I have called my home in wow and gaming in general.

To celebrate the momentous occasion, I took a moment from moving to break out the old classic F2P warrior transmog from back in the day. Shame I dont still have a skillpatch laying around to complete the look.

Discovering F2P was the only thing that brought me back to WoW. It's been a fun 6+ years. There are a number of great memories I have, but sadly most of the screenshots are on a hard drive that's sitting in a landfill somewhere in Texas.

Huge shout out to all of the pioneers who really pushed the boundaries of what was possible and who shared that knowledge with the rest of us. The amount of knowledge this community has accumulated and curated over the years is staggering. Its been a huge, fun and fascinating undertaking and I am proud to be a small part of this incredible community with all of you weirdos.
 
Thanks Embu, this is a great initiative. Gave me a reason to go back through some old screenshots. Lots of good memories, found some 24 & 29 friends I used to bg & arena with. Such fun times.

My screenshot is from 2015, around the time when I started to really get into 20's. This picture is entitled 'Dreaming'.
Iceháwk, all decked out in leather, while on his crusade to explore worlds not previously known to him, stumbled across this farm in Pandaria. He dreamed of a day when he could one day learn to plow the fields like a Tiller, and eat of the land and cook like a Pandaren........
Who says dreams don't come true......;)
 
My screenshot is from 2013. At that time I was mostly playing feral druid (op af) but then i accidentally tried to make and gear warlock and i still play and love this class :ezW:

If you have played on an F2P since the beginning of starter edition trial account's.

You have paid... in time.
 
I didn't play from the very beginning, and I didn't play for as long as many did and still do, but the four years I did play made for the best gaming memories I have to date. I have compiled a video back then of screenshots I've made and at the end I wrote "I hope for another four years full of amazing experiences". Sadly, that didn't happen. The game and F2P in general slowly died for me, so I much rather quit then and preserve these precious memories. Despite that this community and this way of playing is still very special to me. Happy 10th anniversary, F2P, and cheers to the ones still carrying the torch!

 
Been playing Starter Edition ever since Cata, after paying monthly for the game became too dull for me, thought maybe playing 1/100th of the game would be a change of pace. Back when Durotar and Northern Barrens(As an Orc) were the only 2 places I can lvl up and do quests in. And queing up 5 instances instead of 2, I certainly miss those dungeons. I miss the good times dying countless times in The Deadmines because the tank pulled enemies while the healer was probably having a stroke mid way. I miss the great times when Blackfathom Deeps was only but a simple cult worshipping a 3 headed Hydra.(Pre WoD) I miss the degenerate times when I fought people on Shadowfang/Nightreaver when it dropped in Shadowfang Keep, still lost the rolls on those 2. I miss the genuine times when I had good interactions with people and discussing how to clear Wailing Caravans by speaking to the fucking Tauren NPC for the millionth time. I miss the glorious time when I finished the lvl-20 quest for my Warlock that rewards you with the best looking weapon for my standards. (Staff of the Left Hand Path). Shadowlands has certainly gave us f2p players a vast array of possibilities, however, I still hate the Chronormu Mechanic. I have no screen shots nor any memento to commemorate such moment, so take all of this word wall with a grain of salt.
